Take 3

HIIT girl 2

Recommended Posts

I hit the reset button today. I started a month ago but have "fallen off the wagon" twice. The prepping food has been difficult and I find myself in the kitchen starving after a workout and grabbing whatever is close by. I also struggle with the athlete suggestions. So if I workout in the am then I have a pre and post workout meal/snack then 3 other meals. It puts me at having breakfast around noon. It seems like a lot. I just need some encouragement and recommendations if possible. Feeling frustrated

I'm not glad to hear that this happened but glad to hear that it's an issue for others. I just can't figure this out. Hang in there! Let's keep in touch.

Moderators:

My usual schedule is:

Workout from 9-10. Home by 10am.

Can you please provide some guidance on when/what to eat? I have pretty intense workouts.

I think people really overthink the whole pre & postWO thing. It's really not that complicated, and we're not talking about a huge meal - just a few bites on either side is adequate.

So when you waken, take a few bites of a lean protein & some fat, then train, then eat a few bites of a lean protein & starchy carb immediately upon finishing (I usually do this in the gym at my locker straight out of a container that I'll have in my bag), shower, then eat meal one. If you've got the portable options prepared then it shouldn't add much more than a few minutes either side on to your day. And those few bites will tide you over until you eat meal one which I also tend to have pre-prepared.

I think the problem is choosing a preWO that you can digest quickly & easily. I soft boil my eggs as the harder they are the more difficult they are to get down. I had mine 10mins ago, and I'll be in the gym in about 15mins. Personally I can't do nuts as I'd be bringing them back up again ten minutes in. I could probably be up & out having eaten my preWO in less time than that, but I hate to feel rushed in the mornings.

So HIIT girl you could have a preWO @ 8:30, post WO done & dusted as soon as you're session is finished, meal one @ 10am as soon as you get home, meal two @ 2:30ish, and meal 3 @ 6:30/7pm.

Thanks to this response, I understand better how to do the pre and post meals for morning workouts. But I teach two classes in the evening. By the time I get home it's about 7:30 or 8 pm. What I did pre-Whole30 was to eat a smaller dinner around 4:30-5, then have a decent "snack" when I got home (like a yogurt and small granola bar). Obviously those choices are out, and I could still eat dinner early, but how do I avoid eating a "few hours before bed" if I'm hungry after those classes? Thanks!

(Sorry to ask in someone else's thread, but I thought it would be ok since its related.)

Hunger trumps in this situation. Eat if you're hungry after your second evening class, and go to bed at your normal time.

EPIC FAIL ... good bye day 3 ... Hello day 1, tomorrow.

Made a lovely summer vegetable soup and added corn ... bummer.

Still learning!!! =:)

Well, that's just three extra days that you ate clean....even with the accidental corn. Have a good day one tomorrow! Fantastic attitude you have!!
