clb202513
I would like to start my family on a Whole 30 program, but I am curious about the feasibility of the program for my husband. He has Hereditary Fructose Intolerance (HFI), a very rare disorder which means he can't have fructose in any form. That includes fruit, of course, but also a surprising number of vegetables. Eating anything with fructose as a child caused him to have seizures, liver damage, and nosebleeds. As an adult, he still has the liver damage, which of course we want to minimize. I think Whole 30 could be beneficial to him (he suffers from migraines and allergies and a few other things) if we can get past the lack of fruit. Any advice would be welcome. Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 7, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 7, 2015 Fruit is optional on Whole30, it is not a requirement. Many people choose not to eat fruits (myself for one). Assuming that there is some vegetables that he can eat, he should be able to do the Whole30 without too much issue.
