Loribdot
I have a blood orange vinegar that I would like to use on salmon. The ingredients are compliant, but the last one is annatto. When I looked it up, it is a yellowish-red dye obtained from the pulp enclosing the seeds of the annatto tree. May I use this vinegar?
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 7, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 7, 2015 This should be alright as long as there are no non compliant ingredients.
Loribdot
Just wondering if there are any guidelines when it comes to dyes.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 7, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 7, 2015 As far a Whole30 is concerned, as long as your ingredients are compliant, the item is good to go. That said, there is a lot of research out there for the reading about food dyes and whether or not they are safe for you. This one is fully your choice to make a determination that you feel is right for you. Note...the less packaged products you eat, the less chance you are going to run into food dyes....so in that manner Whole30 is already "dye reduced".
