June 8th Start Re-Intro!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies - hope you're all finding this page OK and that day 1 of re-intro is going well for you!

Well I weighed myself this morning, and I lost SEVEN pounds!  Not as much as I hoped, but I WILL TAKE IT!  I didnt do measurements or anything, so that's the only number I have to report.  I'm going to do my "after" shots tonight to compare to my "before".  Hopefully there will be a discernable difference.

I made a smoothie this morning with just frozen strawberries, banana, and about 1/2 c of milk.  It was pretty delish!!  TMI ALERT: it's making me pretty gassy, though.

I have some cheddar cheese with my lunch today.. not gonna lie, pretty stoked about that!

Keep me posted, ya'll!

XOXO Lauren

Alrighty- I'm going to be 100% honest and say I flunked reintro by just eating a donut- it wasn't some run of the mill donut, it was probably the best donut ever. It's a donut I could get every single day, though. I wasn't planning on doing the formal reintro, but based on how I feel, there aren't going to be many more donuts in my future. My bf is taking me out to dinner tonight. Honestly, I couldn't handle going crazy, so I will try to make good choices. No dairy, limited/no sugar for sure. My goal is 80-90% whole30 from here on out.

Hope your day 31 is going better than mine!

Thank you for setting up this new thread Lauren.  I hope that all of us keep on in touch.  I weighed myself today.  I lost 12 pounds.  I am sorry to say that I was a little disappointed.  I was hoping for 20 - I know that sounds crazy - but I am an optimist.  My husband did lose 30 (damn those men and how fast they lose).  But as I got thinking about it 12 is good.  And more importantly, I feel amazing!  I love living this way.  I love that I don't feel full after eating.  I am so proud of myself for making it all the way through this.  I am committed to living healthy for the long term and with that comes its ups and downs and it isn't a miracle pill.  I feel like I look like I've lost weight.

I am not going to follow the reintro perfectly either.  I am going to go have sushi with my husband tonight.  But rather than ordering tempura vegetables for an appetizer and 2-3 rolls - one usually fried - I am going to order my favorite - very healthy - roll.  And only 1.  The only non-compliant thing on the roll is the rice.  Then in a couple days I will try some cheese.  I'm not a big milk drinker.  Cheese and butter are the only dairy I really ever have.  I have missed cheese and so I am excited to have some.  But I also know that it is a non-healthy food that I need to keep out of my diet.  I just want to see how dairy will affect me, if at all, so I have that knowledge going forward.

Yay to us!  I'm glad we have another home to keep helping each other.   :)

Men don't have the enormous hormonal backstory that women have so it's a totally unfair and discouraging comparison, unfortunately.  12 pounds is incredible.  Seriously.  That's 3 pounds a week.  You don't want to lose more than that at a time, to be honest.  You want your body and your metabolism and your skin and even your internal image of yourself to have time to keep up.  Trust me.  :)

14 pounds for me and so happy with how I feel right now. The weight loss is just a bonus. Reintroduced dairy today with kefir with meal 1 and some queso fresco with lunch and have a headache so dairy will be only a special occasion food for me. Glad to know though

Had some of my favorite Tillamook cheddar cheese (it's an Oregon thing) with lunch - and it didnt knock my socks off like I thought it would!  I could probably live without it.  So I probably will!

BAD NEWS for me - just got my "monthly visitor".  So I'm bloated, and emotional.. so now my re-intro is going to be slightly harder to interpret.  If tomorrow wasnt my birthday I'd probably just do another 15 days of W30 and THEN reintro, but I know I'll have a drink this weekend at the fancy seafood place we're going to, so I'll just keep on chugging along and hopefully the food signs will be easy to discern from the "monthly others" lol

Glad you guys found me!  :)

You are absolutely right!  I am proud that I lost as much as I did.  I saw your other post in our "old" forum thread about not weighing yourself.  (I loved the meme you put up!)  I have decided that I am NOT going to weigh myself at all.  Hopefully never again.  You are right, why do it?  It only makes me discouraged.  I am healthier than I've been in 10 years, I feel great and I am going to keep going.  That is all that matters.

I toured the Tillamook plant with my kids once, we brought home about 5 lbs of cheese, lol. :)

Hi Ladies!

I wanted to reach out and see if anyone wanted to do another 30 day challenge with me- this one is about goal setting and organization. I figured that if i can do a Whole 30- I can do any other kind of 30 day challenge. (Probably should do a squat challenge too!)

In some ways I feel like the Whole30 let me put my life on hold and focus on my eating and health. AWESOME! Now that it's over though, I'm looking at other areas of my life and panicing and thinking OMG what am I doing with my life I am so lazy, I have all these goals and I'm behind/ don't know where to start, ya da ya da. I've been listening to a bunch of podcasts and the person who does this 30 day challenge was a guest on one of the shows. She was so real, inspiring, and I think pretty universal as far as the types of people she can relate to.

This challenge involves watching a short video everyday and doing a little homework- about 10 minutes. I would love to have an accountability buddy (or two or five) and I thought I'd ask some of the coolest cats around to see if they're down! Oh and it's free!

Since this isn't really Whole30 related- can you message me and I'll send you the link?

HI all, I never posted my results from the Whole30. I didn't take strict measurements, but I know I lost roughly 6 lbs. For me, that's huge- I'm 120lbs which is cray cray and awesome!  That puts me at the same weight I was at when I was running/ training 3-4 days a week. I plan to train more now- hopefully get up to that 3-4 days again- but I doubt my weight will fluctuate too much.

My measurements on my waist and below my belly button have gone down too- about 1.5 inches on each measurement!

This is great for me- All my clothes fit, and I have the confidence to wear them! I worse a cropped tee shirt and high waisted shorts on fourth of July- that was something that would have never happened before W30- even though I had been dying to wear that outfit for ages.

Hey gang!

I'm not sure what to re-intro tomorrow.. maybe non-gluten grains?  We're going out to dinner (and I'm not sure where) so I want some wiggle room... maybe I should just go full-on gluten and get a hamburger with a BUN!

Forgot to tell you!  I had ice cream on Wednesday night, and it was REALLY sweet.  Like, too sweet.  I mean, I still ate it, but I definitely didnt enjoy it like I thought I would.

Kinda awesome.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Everyone,

So proud of everyone and enjoy reading all the success stories. I am finally over my sinus/cold. It took three weeks, but no drugs or antibiotics !!! Yippee!

I feel great again. I did lose 5 lbs, which is a lot for me also. Haven't weighed this low since high school which was a very long time ago! LOL!

I have not had ANY chocolate until today when I ate a Whole30 approved RX Bar. It was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Since I was already following a Paleo lifestyle, I'm continuing on that path. The Whole30 taught me some valuable lessons and changed some very bad habits, so I am very happy. I haven't really craved sugar at all and I had a smoothie too that I couldn't even drink because it was so sweet! Wow! Although it did not help my digestive issues, so I will now look a little deeper into the nightshades and Fodmaps to see if that might be the problem. If any of the moderators out there have any other suggestions, please respond.

I was not ignoring you after you kindly sent me the link.  Been fairly ill for the last 3 days, so just trying to hang in with my 2nd W30 challenge.  Hopefully someone else was able to join in, it's easier in group. :)

Hi all!  I'm so glad to see everyone's success with Whole30!  I backed off the boards for the duration of the Whole30, but kept on going.  I ended Whole30 and didn't lose any weight.  I was extremely disappointed.  I was hoping to have lost at least 5 lbs.  I attributed my lack of weight loss to my lack of exercise during W30.  I just didn't have the energy to exercise at the level that I know works for my body.  I'm back lifting weights and teaching HIIT classes.

So glad to see everyone is doing great!

Glad to be back on the board after a long weekend away!  My sister flew into town and surprised me for my birthday, which was really fantastic, but man did I eat some CRAP!  I did not hold back on my food choices and ate wayyyyy too much junk like cheeseburgers, tacos, etc.  Plus LOTS of alcohol.

Needless to say, not feeling so hot!!!  Today I am going to my favorite food truck to get a gyro for lunch, and then I'm going to start another W30.  Totally fudged my re-intro and need to reset again.  I didnt even make it a week off the W30 without going crazy - this does not look good for me! LOL

I'll check back here regularly, so keep on posting!  :)

Did your body composition change? Did you have any non scale victories? Did you eat carb dense veggies daily? To see if some tweaks are merited, post 2-3 days worth of your food log, including portion sizes, daily water consumption and nightly hours of sleep in the Troubleshooting section.

I don't have any scale victories to report.. I still don't want to weigh myself. My clothes fit the same as pre-Whole30 so I am somewhat discouraged BUT:

1. I have eaten only compliant food since June 8 (Day 1)

2. I don't have any cravings (even for ice cream which is my favorite food)

3. I am still eating compliant food only and, I think, following the food template.

I will continue this way until next Wednesday when I leave for vacation. I will try to be as compliant as possible, though, while I am away. But, l will want to try the local food and drink (I'm going to Iceland).

May be I am having too much fat?? I tend to have about 2 different fats with each meal.

This is one of the longest continuous food plans I have been able to follow.  But I still need to lose 20 lbs!

Thanks for listening!

If you'd like to get confirmation that you are correctly following the recommended template, post 2-3 days worth of your food log in the Troubleshooting section. Folks here can then give you feedback on possible tweaks.
