Safeway O Organics Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce

Recommended Posts

I thought this was worth investigating, since it is pretty inexpensive when on sale!  I like to have some tomato sauce on hand when I need an easy/quick dinner.  I purchased Safeway's O Organics Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce and the last ingredient listed is "organic spices."  This would mean I would put it back on the shelf, but I didn't see that ingredient until I got home.  Does anyone know what I would need to do to contact the company to find out exactly what "organic spices" are?  I can't figure it out!  Thank you for your help! -Kelly

Unfortunately a lot of products say and "organic spices" so unsure what to do other then to see if you get an answer. I think this is still true that if the ingredient they put in is less than 1% they do not need to be as specific, which is too bad with all of us reading labels now.

No known allergens are permitted to be "hidden" in vague statements such as organic spices.  Dairy, gluten, soy etc are all known allergens.  Sugar is also not permitted to be hidden in a vague statement.  Food manufacturers are not obligated to list the exact spices/herbs that they use.

As far as Whole30 is concerned, this would be fine.
