MichelleDee
I am looking for a brand and store to purchase whole30 compliant sausage. My Harris teeter has Premio but it is not compliant. I live by whole foods and trader joes also.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted July 10, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 10, 2015 You'll really just have to go look at ingredients and see. We hesitate to recommend brands because companies can vary their recipe from region to region, or even change their recipe without warning. Even if you find a brand listed here on the website, please read the labels and be sure it's really compliant. I do know there have been past discussions on this, maybe try googling Whole30 forum sausage and see what comes up -- it could give you a place to start. jent103
You can also just get some ground pork and spice it yourself - super easy. I cook it loose and put it in scrambled eggs, but you could spice the raw meat, then form into patties and cook that way. There are tons of spice blend recipes out there; I've been using Alton Brown's breakfast sausage blend (with the brown sugar omitted).
eboyle86
I have two different stores here (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) that make their own compliant pork sausages in store. You just have to check the labels. These two stores don't carry any large brand name sausages that don't have additives but the store made ones are pork casing, ground pork, salt and spices (garlic, oregano, chili flakes etc). Mitch55
I like Coleman organic chicken spinach florentine from Costco, all ingredients are fine... I will severely miss Sabatino's mozzarella artichoke though...
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted July 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2015 You can order compliant breakfast sausage from US Wellness Meats, or you can make your own. It's really quite easy!
