CharlotteWhole30
I just brought $14 salmon to come home and see that less than 1g of sugar is added. Does this mean it is out for my Whole 30? Is salmon usually okay if brought from the sea-monger (rather than air tight packaged?)
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 13, 2015 If there is a nutritional table on it then there is also an ingredient list. If there is sugar listed in the ingredient list in any form, this would not be compliant. If the sugar is just showing in the nutritional table it is because many things have naturally occurring sugar. As long as no sugar is on the ingredient list, you're fine. Shellykinz
I've been so tempted with recipes with smoke salmon for breakfasts but haven't found smoked salmon that didn't have brown sugar or maple syrup as an ingredient and wasn't able to find any. Any ideas of where to find smoked salmon without the sugar?

Any ideas of where to find smoked salmon without the sugar? I have found cold smoked salmon at Sprouts and While Foods that are compliant. Only cold smoked though (like lox) - not hot smoked.
