llbaxter1
Oh my, I thought I was doing OK (well after being sad and angry on the evening of Day 5), this weekend I have had loads of energy, went out with friends and didn't touch a drop of alcohol.... I woke up this morning feeling fresh and OK. I have enjoyed the food that I have been eating and was looking forward to doing my food shop tonight! Its now 16.20 and I feel like I have been been hit by a bus! I just want to get in a corner and sleep, I have a little headache and I feel a little bit like i'm drunk!? I just want to make this feeling go away
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 13, 2015 Oh, yipes! What have you eaten today? When was your last meal? You are also right on track for the "I just want a nap" portion of our timeline.
llbaxter1
Morning! This morning I am feeling much better However, in answer to your question yesterday I had: Breakfast - 2 Egg Muffins - Eggs wrapped in streaky bacon with mushrooms and asparagus Lunch - Pork Chop with tomatoes, olives, apple, onion cooked in ghee (this was around 1pm then...at the end of my lunch, which was about 2pm i then had a Nakd bar, which I wonder whether this was the culprit? It was Dates (48%), Cashews (29%), Raisins (17%), Cocoa (6%). Although this was after the "hit by a bus feeling" for dinner I had homemade bolognese with zucchini noodles? I think I am eating right? jmcbn
Yeah, the nakd bar is a sugar bomb which would have given your blood sugar a huge spike followed by a slump. They're compliant but the closest thing to 'candy' on a Whole30 & for emergency use only - as in you've fallen down a ravine & your foot is lodged between two rocks, you've been wating 10hrs to be rescued & the thought of sawing off your foot with a sharp stone sounds perfectably acceptable type of emergency.Your meals don't look too bad otherwise - just ensure you're getting enough protein in those breakfast muffins. Bacon is a fat source on Whole30 so you need to be getting 3-4 eggs worth to meet the template.Glad you're feeling better!
llbaxter1
Thanks for that... when I was thinking about it at home I thought it might have been that giving me a huge sugar rush - so like you said, emergencies only from now on, and I cant imagine i'm going to be falling down a ravine any time soon so I think I will steer clear! chezjulie
Glad you are feeling better, llbaxter1. I found that there was a period during my Whole30 where I was really tired and needed extra sleep, too. BTW, I love Manchester. Great town! jmcbn, your emergency example cracked me up. You should use that every time.
llbaxter1
Well I am pleased to say that I am getting through this afternoon without feeling tired! Yay! I have stuck to two meals so far today, no snacking and plenty of water (plus a few coffees) and I actually feel good. I had some boiled baby potatoes with my lunch, which psychologically for me is a big thing because I completely see them as "bad food" and it just makes me feel bloated thinking about it ;-/ that's my problem rather than the potatoes though i think..... Chezjulie, I work right in the city centre in a beautiful location in a great city, i am very lucky
