beckyralexander
Hi, I tried searching for this topic but coudn't really find anything. Forgive me if this has been asked about before. So, back in May, I was doing a "faux30" (too much fruit, eating non-compliant bacon and sausage), and on Day 14 I became very ill and threw up for about 5 hours. The last meal before that was eggs and fruit. This time, I am doing the True Whole30, and I decided to have NO fruit, and also no coffee. Just because. Day 13---Bison and veggies for lunch. A couple hours later, very ill again...vomiting, diarhhea, chills, sweats you name it. Both times it comes on very quickly, with absolutely no warning, and leaves just as quickly. In between these episodes I am totally fine, have no digestive issues with food (that I know of), no stomachaches, no bloating.....I have gallbladder issues in my family and am going to get that, and my liver, checked out, just to be safe. Or is it just a strange coincidence, and was it the stomach flu...both times, 13-14 days in?? I also did another "faux30" this past March and nothing like that happened. Anyone have this happen to them? (Also, back in May, my husband and I had the same meal of eggs, and both times he never became ill.) Please advise! Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 16, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 16, 2015 This sounds like a stomach bug or food poisoning. Nothing about eating Whole30 food would give you random 5-hour violent vomitting unless you are allergic to something you are eating.
beckyralexander
Thank you for getting back so quick! And if I WAS allergic to some food.....I would get that reaction all the time, right? Not just randomly. But isn't it weird that it happened both times, nearly the same length in? One of life's great mysteries, I guess.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 16, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 16, 2015 It is strange, yes. It's possible that this is around the time that your body is so busy rebalancing and healing that it leaves your immune system open to bugs?
