jenjibug
Hi, So I fell off the wagon, so to speak, on Day 3 of my first Whole 30 but it may have been the best thing to happen so I wanted to share in case others need motivation on why it is so important to continue. I was frustrated with increasing gallbladder pain, trying to find things to eat that I would like due to being a very picky eater, and also stressing over maintaining my breastmilk supply (I breastfeed a 9.5 month old) and honestly, I copped out by trying to do a "modified" Whole30 to let myself have some of the things I missed (mainly nonfat milk and 2 splendas in my coffee in the morning, black just wasn't working for me). Not excuses, just the "why" of what happened. So on Day 4 I had my coffee with non-fat milk and 2 Splendas and immediately felt like I had a stuffy nose and felt overall just not good. I ate Whole 30 compliant the rest of the day until dinner, when I caved and ordered pizza for me and my family. Well, let me tell you...I was shocked when I immediately began feeling body-wide joint and muscle pain, nausea, fatigue, and became moody. It happened so quickly it just floored me. I realize now that it really is all or nothing and I am more pumped than ever to continue (Day 1 is today for my second shot at this) because I want to feel as good as I did on days 1 and 2, and am curious to continue to see these positive changes in myself! Just thought I'd share, happy Friday all and wish me luck! -Jen
Carlaccini
Thank you for posting this. Great that you discovered this after only 3 days.... This is a great example of WHY the Whole 30 requires 100% compliance
jenjibug
It sure is Carlaccini! I feel like I got run over by a truck and all it took was 2 slices of pizza and some milk in my coffee!!
Bexstoth
Jen your milk supply will be really well established if your LO is 9.5months so don't worry about supply and well done for getting that far! xx
HeavyLiftingHan
I'm on my second round and for me it took a couple of false starts to really pull my socks up and COMMIT! Going strong on day 13 here, and the changes I've made based on previous lapses have made all the difference! Have a great day ☺
fmr_sailor
I'm about to do my second REstart on August 2nd. But I have been eating compliant lunches and dinners each day. But yesterday we went to a place where I used to eat once a week, and I got what I always ate. Let me tell you, I had the worst pain in my guts from my sternum all the way through my entire left side. I never got an upset stomach but was stuck in the Target bathroom in AGONY for almost an hour. At one point the pain was so bad I felt nauseous and broke out in a horrible sweat close to what I would expect a hot flash to be like with sweat running down my whole body. It was TOTALLY not worth it. I'm ready to get back on board, just waiting until after my daughter's birthday on the first.
