mrsf52408
Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie and I'm a corn fed 31 year old living in rural Illinois. This is probably going to be the most challenging thing I've ever done in my life, but it's time to make some changes so that I can live a long, vital life. My current health ailments include PCOS, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, fibromyalgia, insomnia, depression, and anxiety. I currently have terrible eating habits that I know are only going to make these issues worse if they continue, and I need to turn things around ASAP. When I found the Whole 30 on Pinterest while researching paleo recipes, I felt like it was a sign that THIS IS IT...THE TIME IS NOW. I am so excited to get started!!! Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted July 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2015 HI Stephanie! Welcome and congrats for finding us! One small piece of unsolicited advice... between now and August 1st, try and eat mindfully, make good choices and if you can help it, don't spend the next few days going to town on all the things you think you'll miss during the 30 days. The better your consumption is heading in to the Whole30, the better, as the amount of suck you experience in the first week is directly related to your diet leading up to it. A little practice ahead of time with black coffee or reduced soda consumption (not sure if these are things that affect you) makes the actual Whole30 miles better! Good luck! you can definitely do it!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 21, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2015 To add to the good advice Sugarcube made, if you are not currently eating breakfast within an hour of waking, this is a huge one to practice as it is directly related to the success that folks experience further on in their program. Starting now will only bring you further ahead!

InOneness
Hi everyone! i will be starting my first Whole30 on Aug 1 also. I have been reading the book and getting my mind wrapped around all the great info. I have successfully completed a Daniel Fast earlier in the year and remember how brutal the first week was, mainly due to caffeine restriction. I am expecting the first week or so of Whole30 to bring some challenges as well, just not the caffeine issue! I am totally committed to this reset for many reasons. So this next week I will be cleaning out my pantry/fridge and getting at least the first week's meal plan on paper and food items purchased/prepared. Sugarcube and LadyShanny offer some great advice for preparation.... thank you! Any other words of advice for a newbie?? <
