mandyw12786
Hi Everyone! I am really freaking out this morning! I am on day 24 and forgot my lunch at home. My brother and his wife had a baby in the middle of the night, and in all of the excitement this morning I forgot to grab my lunch out of the fridge. I was searching some restaurants around me and it seems like my safest choice is Chipotle. I have read that the only meat I should get there is Carnitas, but due to some pork shortage they are not carrying the Carnitas at this time. I know the chicken is cooked in soy bean oil, but will it completely derail me if I have that as my protein on my salad? I have come so far, and I don't want something silly like this to ruin all the hard work. Thanks so much for reading my rant and for any input you may have! Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 22, 2015 Hi Amanda, congrats on your new niece/nephew! Exciting! Check this link for ingredients at Chipotle. https://chipotle.com/ingredient-statement And no, you cannot eat the chicken there on a Whole30, it contains rice bran oil. Your better bet may be to go to a grocery store and get a premade salad (without croutons or cheese, obv) and eat it with some canned protein such as sardines, tuna or salmon (check your labels). Some grocery stores even have hard boiled eggs available. Drizzle with a little olive oil and a squeeze of lemon and you're all set.
melc390
I second the grocery store option. I think it is your safest bet. Good luck!
mandyw12786
Thanks so much for this link! I was looking for something like this, but I couldn't find it. I was looking at the nutritional facts that said there was no sugar, so I was thinking maybe. I didn't even see the ingredients tab. I really appreciate you sending it! Unfortunately, I don't have a grocery store around where my office is, and don't have a long enough lunch break to drive across town to get to one. I definitely won't get the chicken and may settle for just the lettuce, pico, and guac since they are safe foods. I know it is not the ideal, but I feel it's my best option. Again, I appreciate the support! I really love doing this program and didn't want to mess it up for myself! Have a great day! Amanda )
Britishgal
Is check the ingredients on the guacamole...there was a post here a while back that talked about sour cream in the guacamole at a restaurant (why a restaurant would do that I have no idea!!) JenX
Do you have a gas station with a convenience store close enough? Surprisingly, I've found HB eggs there (as well as canned tuna, etc.) you could add to your Chipotle salad. If not, yes, just do the best you can. I did find that after 20+ days, while I get hungry if I'm super late with a meal or in a bind like this, I don't get shaky or hangry or hypoglycemic anymore. just plain old hunger you can deal with if you have to. Congratulations, Auntie!

And let this be a learning experience, get some compliant tinned fish on your next grocery trip and leave it in your desk for emergencies!
