kate9988
Hi ! I'm 5 days into the whole30. The first few days (after day one honeymoon) I felt incredibly tired, carb-flu ish. I'm feeling better and really enjoying the diet choices. BUT...I have noticed a significant decrease in my libido. Is this normal for the beginning? I wasn't a crazy ravenous libido before, so I'd like to keep what I had?! Anyone else experience this? My diet so far is this:: Breakfast: 2-3 eggs, bed of veggies, coconut oil Lunch- sweet potatoes, chicken, nuts Dinner- flank steak, sweet potoato, greens, coconut oil I have had handfuls of cashews and olives in between lunch and dinner to stave off hunger. I"m eating until I'm full, my portions appear to be decent sized to me... thanks! Link to comment
GFChris
We have reports of mostly increased and sometimes decreased libido - likely attributed to a shift in hormones as you go through this process. Also, how much sleep are you getting nightly, and how is your current stress level?Your food looks ok, although I wonder if you're eating enough, given your snacks between lunch and dinner? You want to create meals that satiate you for 4-5 hours.I'd suggest upping the protein at least at breakfast (when eggs are your protein, the serving size is the number of eggs you can hold in one hand without dropping them. For most folks, that's 3-4 eggs). Be sure you're getting 1-3 cups of veggies and the appropriate amount of compliant fat per meal, per the recommended meal template. If the coconut oil was just your cooking fat, note that much of that stays behind in the pan, and you may need to compensate with additional fat. Instead of only cashews or only olives for a snack, if you're genuinely hungry between meals (litmus test: you could eat something bland like steamed fish and broccoli), have a mini meal containing protein, veg and fat. Nuts are a fat on a Whole30. Link to comment
