Struggle Today, Stronger Tomorrow!

Hey Everyone!

I am COMPLETELY new to this, and have no idea if I'm posting this right or if this is where I'm supposed to post, buuut hopefully it works and finds some of you reading! I just started my Whole30 journey yesterday, July 27th, and going strong on Day 2! I've always been in fairly good shape; played multiple sports throughout high school, volleyball in college, and TRY to stay fairly active still with volleyball/running/kickboxing. Throughout college I was so used to being able to eat/drink whatever I wanted and not notice any real negative weight gain or health issues since we had intense workouts everyday, multiple times a day! Now that I've been out of school for 3 years now, my metabolism is not what it used to be! I've never thought of myself as overweight or unhealthy, but the past year or so it's really snuck up on me how I can see my body changing and not in the way I would hope! After doing multiple Advocare cleanses/24 day challenges, going through many Diet "fads" with no major/lasting results, I had a few friends introduce me to the Whole30 and the fact that it's a FREE program just helping you through your daily meals had me intrigued. I've always been an extremely happy, outgoing, active individual, but over the past year or so I have been dealing with anxiety, which has really stressed me out even more because I know it's just not like me or my personality! When I read the book and saw people have had great success stories with many medical conditions, weight loss, and anxiety among the many other mental/physical health issues, I was determined to do it and get myself back on track and feeling like I'm 21 again!

 

Any positive comments, tips, tricks, encouragement is welcome! I love the fact there is a community of people here all going through the same program looking to reach similar, yet many different goals! I'm hoping I can help positively influence/cheer many of you on, and hope to gain from this experience and learn from all of you as well! We can DO THIS!

Have you read the book "It Starts With Food?" I borrowed it from the library and that is how I got started in the Whole30 program.  I'm supposed to be on Day 7 now but I made the mistake of eating peas (which is a legume!) so I had to start over. Today is Day 2 for me. :)  Congrats on joining the Whole30 program- this forum has definitely become a daily stop for me.
