lauraska
I go to LA once a year for a whirlwind three day trip where I literally go go go from about 8 am to 8 pm or later. i'd like to have as much control as possible over my eating while I'm there, considering I won't be able to cook anything on my own. I'm staying downtown and see that there's a Ralph's down there so I can grab some coconut milk for my coffee and other snacks. Does anyone have any other advice for paleo eats in the city? Thanks in advance!
Susan W
I would google restaurants in the neighborhood you will be staying in (downtown LA spans a lot of area) and then look at their menus to see what they have. I do that everywhere I go.
mistressjd
You will be fine. I have not gone out to eat since starting whole 30, but there are tons of 'paleo' style restaurants around. Paleo and crossfit are super trendy in LA right now so lots of places are adding good, clean food to their menus. Yelp is also a great resource. There is a Ralphs, but you can grab lots of basics and ready to go at other grocery stores in the area like Fresh and Easy, Trader Joes, and Sprouts. If I remember right, there was also a piece on the whole 9 blog about eating on the go. Don't be afraid to be specific when ordering. The wait staff here are used to LA clientele being picky with orders. Best of luck!!
lauraska
Thanks all. I know how to find paleo options at traditional restaurants. I was just curious, since LA is so diet conscious, if there were specific places that cater to those of us who eat paleo. I managed to do pretty well out there and had a great trip. Thanks again!
