I asked if they had olive oil (extra virgin) and I get a "yeah definitely" so I get to their house and this is there: http://www.starfinefoods.com/our-products/olive-oil/newbutter-flavored-olive-oil/in the pan Why?!? What is this? What is "butter flavoring"? This cant be complient to cook with can it. Does it make me start over? Does anyone know what it is? Thank you! jmcbn Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 It most likely contains diacetyl which is what they use to flavour the butter popcorn in cinemas and whilst not off limits during your Whole30 it's certainly not something you'd want to be ingesting a lot of - I believe there was a lawsuit some years back following the development of lung cancer in people who consumed popcorn where this was used as a flavouring and it was recommended that it's usage be drastically reduced.
