JenJen1986
Hi All, So I've made a big decision today and decided to embark on a huge adventure-a whole 100! I'm ready to make a real change and excited to do this. I've been struggling with depression, lack of energy, hormone issues, and just overall feeling crappy in addition to steadily gaining weight recently. I've done two whole 30's previously and think these changes are going to take a little more time so although I'm going to take it 30 days at a time at this point I'm planning on doing a whole 100. I'm sure I'm going to need all the support I can get and am hoping this log will be a great way to track my progress! I really am just ready to feel better and I know it will be hard but I also know it will be worth it! I plan to start off tomorrow by putting away clothes that don't fit me so I know everything in my closet fits my body comfortably right now-I think that will be a big step to feeling mentally better. Wish me luck everyone!
JenJen1986
Good morning! So..I kept my starting my Whole 100 quiet and not the smartest idea it turns out as my sweet husband surprised my with wine tasting yesterday so in spite of all my food being approved today will be my official first day. Here's my plan for food today: Breakfast: 1 chicken apple sausage with side salad (spinach, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil with raspberries) Lunch: 2 chicken apple sausages with same side salad and blueberries and almond butter Dinner: Hamburger with salsa and bell pepper sauteed with coconut oil
Tassietiger
Hi Jen, I am also starting my whole90 journey today. My partner has also jumped on the bandwagon for 30 days which Will help. Wine will definatly be the thing I miss the most during this! I will keep following you and will start my log this afternoon. Good luck!
JenJen1986
So I've been back and fourth about starting this whole 100 and it's showed in the number of times I've attempted to start and stop this whole 100 adventure! I'm now on day 2 and feeling really committed finally! The "hangover phase" seems worse this time around then when I did a whole 60 I'm assuming because I was already eating paleo then and I hadn't been prior to this attempt. I'm already noticing the acid refux I've had for the passt few weeks is gone and it looks like my excema spots are starting to heal a little bit! Feeling optimistic! Here's today's food (not super exciting but all works): M1: black coffee, spinich, three eggs and 1 chicken apple sausage, and salsa, berries and almond butter M2: 1 aidell's chicken apple sausage, spinich, balsamic vinegar and olive oil M3: turkey salad-turkey (cooked olive oil), spinich, and salsa. JenJen1986
So learning a lot already! My psoriasis that was flared up behind my ears is already almost gone! Shows to me.it's definitely food related. Bad news is I'm struggling to make my meals big enough I don't snack BUT it seems so far I'm doing better with it then my whole 60! JenJen1986
Day 3!!! Woke up with a bit of a headache (probably typical for the hangover phase) but nothing too serious. Am feeling good and am noticing that my body was really reacting to the foods I ate and I didn't even realize just in terms of how my digestion seems to have calmed down. Feeling tired but hoping the energy will improve soon. Realizing I didn't drink enough water yesterday so I've got to make that a focus today. I think today is looking a little fruit heavy so that's something I'm going to try and cut back on over the coming weeks as well. Today's food plan: M1: 2 chicken and apple sausage, blueberries and almond butter, small side salad. M2: Same sausages with sweet potato and a banana. M3: Making WELL FED morrocan meatballs for dinner and will have with a salad as well.
JenJen1986
DAY 4!!! Feeling good today so far am feeling proud of myself because I've worked out for the last few days also. I used to be a consistant exerciser but have really fallen off with that over the past few months. I'm feeling pretty good today but I'm noticing instead of improving my sleep has not been great the last few nights. Last night I actually woke up at 1:45 and had to take a melatonin because I was struggling so to get back to sleep. I was able to then get back to sleep but I learned taking a melatonin that late at night is a bad idea when you have to wake up at 5:30 am-I'm still feeling groggy and out of it-I'm sure partly just because my sleep hasn't been great! I don't think this is super abnormal for a whole 30 but not something I struggled with when I did a whole 60 previously. That said, I'm also having headaches this time around which I didn't last time I think like I mentioned before I'm experiencing more of this stuff because I wasn't eating "paleo" before this round like I have before so it's probably more of a shock to my body. Any advice on dealing with sleep issues and headaches on the whole 30 would be much appreciated! Other then that I'm feeling good and proud of the good changes I'm seeing already! Today's Food: -M1: Blueberries with almond butter, sausage, and a side salad -M2 :Two applegate hotdogs (or left over morracan meatballs) and a salad -M3: Not sure going to happy hour with a friend which is going to be tricky but I can have club soda with lime and it is a place known for it's steak
JenJen1986
DAY 5!!! Been a good morning again woke up with a slight headache but seem to be doing better already. Happy hour went ok last night I had club soda with lime and filet mignon steak strips-hoping nothing non compliant was snuck in there but I felt pretty safe. Stressful times at work right now feeling like I have more on my plate then I can handle but I'm really working hard on it and so far hasn't impacted my eating at all which is a huge victory for me as I've always been a stress eater. Only 95 more days to go Today's Plan: -M1: black coffee, strawberries with almond butter, chicken and salsa and some greens. -M2: 2 applegate hotdogs, sweet potato, and a side salad. -M3: Nom Nom Paleo's Khalua pig in a skillet (with shredded chicken instead of the "khalua pig"). JenJen1986
DAY 6! Happy Friday everyone! So excited for this weekend and my date with my hubby tonight. On the food front things are a little weird today as tomorrow is grocery shopping day but I'll make it work. Still waking up with a headache which is concerning me because I haven't woken up to a migraine before starting the whole 30. Any suggestions on why that might be would definitely be appreciated. Hoping to really crank some stuff out at work today so here we go!! M1- Almond butter and raspberries M2-two applegate hotdogs and side salad M3- date night-not sure likely an open faced hamburger and a salad. JenJen1986
DAY 7!!! So week 1 is done and I'm feeling good about it although the weekend is seeming to be harder. If I was just doing 30 days I actually would probably say no going out to eat at all but 100 days is a long time to realistically do that so I'm limiting going out to weekends and being as careful as I can be to keep my choices complaint although realistically some additives may sneak in (sugar in meat is the big thing I can think of that may be an issue). Otherwise doing well feeling good headaches are lessening but there still and psoriasis is continuing to get better running errands today and then will probably have some net flicks time tonight. Today's food: M1: Black coffee and sausage and egg from sausage Bfast sandwich M2: hotdog side salad and berries with almond butter M3: fajita meat and veggies
JenJen1986
Day 8!!! Went and did something really fun for myself yesterday-got two tattoos I've been waiting to get for a long time! I'm really excited about it but a little bummed because I'm doing T25 and have to wait 48 hours to exercise when I was on a role! Not much else is changed. Woke up a couple times last night..I'm noticing my sleep hasn't been great lately and not sure if it's whole 30 related or not but hoping it will get better soon. It's nothing terrible at this point just a little annoying. Hope everyone has a fun Sunday!! I'm going to have some fun with the hubby today and get some homework done (grad school yay..) I felt bad hubby wanted to do some wine tasting and I had to remind him I couldn't-I think he was bummed but he was a good sport about it. My food for today: M1-Eggs and compliant turkey bacon (hubby made me breakfast ) M2-Berries and almond butter, salad with turkey and salsa. M3-Aidell's sausage and salad
JenJen1986
Day 9!! Well made it to day 9! Feeling good still hoping I'll be healed enough from the new tattoos to workout this evening because I noticed that has really been helping me feel better. Biggest change I'm noticing is in my skin still and it's continuing to look better! No really noticing much as far as other changes right now but that's probably presumptuous for day 9 lol. Wishing I had people around me doing the whole 30 the past couple days-I think I'm starting to feel a little isolated in this so am going to keep posting and reread the whole 30 daily e-mails and hopefully that will help. My school conference starts wednesday adn goes through sunday (I'm in grad school) and I'm a little worried about that because typically that has been a time of not great eating for me. Hoping this time around I can handle it in a more effective way. Gonna have to sit down and think about a plan for that! My food for today: M1- aidell sausage, raspberries and blueberries with almond butter, side salad. M2- turkey, side salad M3- mexican salad, banana
JenJen1986
Day 10!! Wahoo 1/3 my way through my first 30 days of my whole 100. Busy day today running groups for 6 hours! Hoping it goes well. Keeping this check in quick today because it's such a busy day but here's my food plan for the day: M1-berries almond butter and applegate hot dog. M2- salad and sausage M3- Meatballs with compliant sauce and peppers
JenJen1986
DAY 11!!!!! Well today is a start of my school conference week and I'm honestly a little nervous about staying on track. I think I can do it I just know my tendency to see my eating go down the drain when I'm here. Trying to keep it in check today so wish me luck! M1: berries and almond butter, black coffee, sausage M2: salad and hamburger, likely will pick up other things at PCC so may change. M3: potato wedges, meatballs and sauce, salad
JenJen1986
Day 12!! Still at school, was able to keep compliant yesterday and plan on doing the same today! So I realized something pretty amazing last night..I went to foam roll my back (something do pretty frequently due to back pain) and I realized hmm my back isn't cracking as much as it usually does..then I realized oh my gosh my back isn't hurting! I'm trying not to get to overly excited about it because who knows it could come back but..I'm still not hurting today-anyone dealing with chronic pain knows this is a big deal and actually was one of the reasons I did a whole 60 but didn't notice any change during that time. Here's crossing my fingers it continues!! M1: sausage and egg with black coffee M2: hotdogs, sweet potato, berries and almond butter M3: going out to dinner tonight so not sure but will keep it complaint! WholeMama623
Hello! Former Whole100er here. You are about get to past that initial tough period and things will become a breeze! For me the first 15 days were the hardest, and then before I knew it I was 50 days in. You can do this!!! I felt amazing during mine, and wish that I could do another one! I'm not sure what I'm doing right now. I just started a Whole30 but will probably extend it! Looking forward to reading about your journey! Oh, and take pictures!!! That got me through my W100. When I felt like I wanted to quit, I looked at pictures of how much I had changed!
JenJen1986
Hey Whole Mama!! I loved reading about your whole 100! I'm hoping you are right about things seeming to speed up from here. I remember that happening with my whole 60 that after the first 15-30 days seemed to go the slowest and were the hardest and the rest flew by! Good idea about taking pics too I should do that now before I'm too far along in my 100 days.
WholeMama623
yes! Do it as soon as you are able! Luckily I took pics my very first day, and by the end I was so surprised!!!
JenJen1986
Day 13! I am still in conference so another quick check in today. JenJen1986
Day 14!!! Not sure what's going on but I've been feeling nauseous all day..managed to stay compliant but not sure what's going on. :/
Lainey
I hope you don't mind if I follow along as well! I am on Day 16 of a second Whole30, that might possibly extend longer. :-) I hope you are feeling better!

JenJen1986
DAY 15!! Feeling a little better today not sure what the deal with the nausea is...still at my school conference and feeling stressed it's been an intense week studying affairs separation divorce and DV (I'm getting my master's in MH counseling). Still feeling good don't think I've lost weight which I would love to but trying not to let that piece bother me. The feeling good IS the most important thing!!! My day: M1: Black coffee with coconut milk, egg and sausage no sugar added applesauce M2: sausages, salad, berries and almond butter M3: meatballs and compliant sauce and salad
JenJen1986
Day 16!! Conference over back to work today which of course is crazy as it's Monday but trying to manage the stress well. Still feeling good and all is well on that front my birthday is on Wednesday which I'm a little worried about but we are going out to dinner at a place I can easily get a steak so I'm feeling like it's doable AND my whole 100 ends Dec 28th so I will have to get through all the holidays and my birthday is good practice for that for sure! Here's my food for today: M1: sausage and potato wedges M2: Hotdogs salad and apple slices with almond butter M3: chicken salad and berries. JenJen1986
DAY 17!!! I am feeling good psoriasis is GONE and back is still feeling good no other changes I've noticed yet but that's more than enough for me! No tiger's blood but I didn't get that before either so I think that's just not a part of the whole 30 experience for me. I am glad I'm going to 100 days especially now as I'm getting further along in my first 30 day chunk I'm realizing more time will definitely be beneficial for me in a lot of ways actually. Oh and gearing up for my birthday tomorrow-booked a massage and am planning on getting my nails done in the am then going out with the hubby for dinner with I'm sure some other fun thrown in there. I think having things set up to look forward to is gonna make not "treating myself" with food cause it's my birthday easier. My food for today: M1: Berries and almond butter with black coffee :/..I know M2: sausages and salad with potato wedges M3: burger and salad
