Tassietiger
Hello to anyone who has taken the time to read my whole90 blog. This will be my 3rd whole30, however after some amazing results the last 2 times, I have slipped into old habits and lost that amazing feeling you have whilst whole30. So this time instead of finishing on day 30 when you are really starting to feel good, I want to keep going, hence the whole90. Today is the end of day one and going well so far! My amazing partner cooked up a storm yesterday and I now have a freezer full of whole30 complient meals, which is great for our shift working. I was also surprised that she decided to come along for the ride for at least 30 days which is great! She is so a kettlebell fanatic and one of her friends has organised a 5,000 swing + clean eating 30 day challange. So as she is supporting me with food and cooking amazing meals, I have decided to pick to take the kettlebells for a swing (it's probably about time given that she is an RKC instructor and we have a garage full of them!). This blog will be a place for me to vent, and post a few meal snaps as I go along. The pic below is my mountain of mini chicken meatloaves I made today, they freeze really well and are a great quick breakfast for early starts. Seasoned with coriander, lemongrass, ginger and coconut oil.
Tassietiger
Today is the end of day 2, and it was a pretty uneventful day. I was a bit hungry this afternoon but I did have to eat lunch at 11.45 this morning due to work requirements. I was also pleased to ignore the 3 cakes on the tea room table today, and to be honest I wasn't that bothered about not eating them. Dinner tonight of seasoned lamb blackstrap and roast veggies with some garlic aoli that I made yesterday for some fat, it was very delishous. I also started the kettlebell swing challange this afternoon, I can already hear my hamstrings crying at the thought of bending over tomorrow! Tassietiger
Haven't logged in a while but I'm definatly thankful for the freezer of whole30 meals or part there of the last few days! I was on call Thursday night and got called back to work, I took some Nuts and a chicken muffin with me incase I was at work all night. It came in handy as I left work again at 2am and everyone else had orded pizza! I stayed out of the tea room away from the pizza and just had a few nuts to get me through. I was tired at work on Friday and had some of my pre prepared meat with a plate of veggies. Handed in my uni assignment just before midnight Friday night. At work I had a few sugar cravings but they came and went quickly. This weekend has been very relaxing I cooked a vegetable curry and chicken tikka masala for dinner on Saturday night. I'm feeling a little sore from my kettlebell swings but happy that I'm progressing well with the numbers. 170 with 14kg today. I need 166 a day for 30 days to get the challange goal of 5,000 in the month. I'll be making up some numbers towards the end. I'm happy with my progress and it's the end of day 6 today. Hopefully I can keep myself organised for the next 7 days of work.
Tassietiger
Day 7. And today I feel like crap! No energy, tired and lethargic. But hopefully the fog will lift soon! I wasn't very hungry today, but still ate my 3 meals, meal 2 was quite small though. Managed to get out 200 swings even though it was the last thing I felt like doing this afternoon. First time I attempted them as 10 on the minute. Just made the 20 mins as my muscles started to die in the ass! Had a delishious dinner of burrito chicken, with onion and capsicum on a plate of lettuce with smashed avocado on top.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted August 10, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 10, 2015 Hi, Tassietiger. Just wanted to remind you that when you're exercising, you get bonus pre- and post-workout meals. If you continue to feel tired, definitely make sure you're adding a little lean protein and starchy vegetable post-workout.
Tassietiger
Thanks Shannon, I have been exercising just before lunch so haven't felt the need for an extra meal. But I think I need to add a starchy vegetable post workout. Thank you! Feeling a bit more awake today which is a bonus!
Tassietiger
I often struggle with eggs, I only really started eating them as an adult. Evey now and then I cannot stomach them! However after some reading and experimentation in the kitchen my partner has created an amazing egg breakfast! If I'm honest it probably has a little to much fat in it, but that really helps in keeping me full for a long time. Coconut milk, dedicated coconut microwaved till hot, 1/4 of a frozen ripe banana 2 eggs whisked in, microwaved until cooked whisked again! A few frozen blueberries and 2 strawberrys and its delishous!
Tassietiger
So it's coming to the end of day 11 already! I'm starting to notice a difference In my sleep. Feel like I'm getting a more solid sleep now, waking up a bit more refreshed. I got called into work at 5am on Thursday morning, got back home at 8 and didn't really feel the need to go back to sleep. Instead I just pottered round the house and went back to work at 1 and I only started to feel tired at the end of my shift so that was really good. I can finally bend over again pain free thanks to my muscles now being used to the kettlebell swing! Got to 300 swings with 10 on the minute with the 14kg so I upped by bell size to 16kg and managed 180 today and then another 80 with the 14kg. Very happy with kbell progress! My partner has given up on the whole30 by drinking alcohol which is really frustrating, and is now using the excuse of oh well I slipped up yesterday I'll may as well drink today, and tomorrow! So she is back at day 2 for the last 3!
Tassietiger
It's the end of day 14 tomorrow I'll be halfway through my first of 3 whole 30's! Ive had the strangest craving for chocolate chip biscuits! It's weird because I wouldn't normally crave them! And a chicken burger from the take away shop up the road! Oh well it's lucky that my Amazon order from america has arrived with all of my new paleo cookbooks! Well fed 1 and 2, nomnompaleo's food for humans, against all grain, and ancestral table which is good timing! I've had a terrible weekend at work after working the early shift on sat finished at 1630 then got called back at 2130 and left work at 0530 Sunday morning Then back to work at 1400 Sunday arvo, in just really happy that in my sleep deprived state at 3am when the bag of lollies was being passed round and round I did not indulge, I would normally have gone mental, Cookie Monster style. 3 days off and time to do some more meal prep. My partner has a brisket marinating in the fridge ready to smoke and slow cook tomorrow. She has decided to keep going with the food to help me but will have a drink every now and then, so I guess it's better than nothing, and having the support with the food part really helps. I really miss going out for meals though! I managed 340 swings with the 16kg today in 32 minutes, was really happy with that, especially as I didn't do any on sat or sun due to work. Bring on day 15! Tassietiger
Day 16 and I'm in struggle town! Feeling quite lethargic today. Still managed to mow the lawns and do a bit of weeding, but I could nearly grip the kettlebell today. I'm ment to be writing an assignment that's due on Friday but I can't concentrate. Hopefully I can sleep better tonight and will feel more rested tomorrow.
