katieeg
I know this is early, but I'm on day four but my acne seems to have gotten worse. I've broken out with mosquito-bite like pimples on my face. I've been 100% compliant and sticking to the meal plan. I've decided to eliminate nuts for the remainder because I had some stomach pain and bloating with them yesterday. I also went off hormonal birth control for medical reasons and I had an ice cream sandwich before I started on 7/31. Any suggestions? I hope this gets better. Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted August 4, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 4, 2015 The leveling out and changing of hormones can cause or increase breakouts. It sounds like maybe due to going off BC and now doing a Whole30 it could be that, but it's hard to say. If you like, you can post your meals for the last few days (including portion sizes) and we can see if something stands out. As well, please make sure you're drinking enough water. The recommendation is 1/2oz per pound of body weight so if you weight 120pounds, that's 60oz.
KristenD
It's the pills. I have had perfectly clear skin my whole life until I went off the pill, then I broke out, but kept it controlled with Proactiv. It takes awhile, but your body adjusts and my skin is clear again. Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted August 5, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 5, 2015 It's hard to tell portion sizes but your meals look pretty good. Almond butter (and other nuts and nut butters) are notoriously hard on digestion, so it could be something to try to take it out for a while. Peppers and tomatoes can be disruptive to some folks... are you eating way more of those or any other one thing than you did prior to starting Whole30? The only other thing I could suggest would be to add more fat to your meals. The fat used to saute is usually all left in the pan, so we recommend that you add fat in the way of avocado, olives, mayo and mayo based dressings and even additional olive oil drizzled on your meal before eating. You didn't mention your fluid intake... recommendation is 1/2oz of water per pound of body weight daily.
