aschuler17
I started the Whole30 yesterday - a friend introduced me to the program this past spring when she had great results, so I have been contemplating starting for a while. I have continued to put off my start date and have made multiple excuses; however, a few weeks ago, I came to the conclusion that I need to start taking better care of myself. I started working out consistently and making small moves with my eating patterns. I finally made the decision yesterday that it was time to rip off the bandaid and start my one month journey! Reasons why I chose to do this? I have had digestive issues for the past 3 years - I stopped eating gluten for a while, but that did not solve 100% of my issues (and I have noticed sensitivities to a few odd items like raw almonds, raw broccoli, etc.). I am hopeful that the Whole30 will help me get to the bottom of what is causing these sensitivities. Also, over the past 3 years, I have gained about 20 lbs which is quite a bit on a 5'4" frame - primarily due to work stress and personal stress (getting married, starting new job, multiple moves, etc.). I am not primarily doing this for the weight loss though - for me, I would like to resolve digestive issues and reset the way that I think about food and what I put in my body. The hardest part for me will be giving up sugar and dairy - but I am doing my best to take this one day at a time!
