Allia
I read that rice vinegar is allowed, but I'm asking about a specific type, called "black rice vinegar" or "Chinkiang/Zhenjiang vinegar". I've already had some today and I think it's not as sour as other types which makes me wonder if it has added sugars. I can't find anything online. Would this be ok on Whole30 or should I start again?
jmcbn
Are there no ingredients listed on the bottle? What is the brand name?Google is telling me it often contains sugar & malt which would make it off limits, but from what I can see it can vary from brand to brand. Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 11, 2015 If the vinegar includes sugar, you could just stop using it. If the vinegar includes malt, you would need to start over.
Allia
Thanks! Turns out I actually did not have it (dish used bottle of coconut amino instead)... As I didn't cook that portion of the meal, I freaked out unnecessarily. The ingredients do say sugar though, so I'll avoid it. I guess I don't need to restart.
