Heavy Cream

Whole30 rules are no dairy, except for clarified butter and ghee (both have had the milk proteins removed).

So heavy cream is not compliant, sorry.  It's only for 30 days. Treat it like an experiment. It will be interesting to see what happens when you reintroduce heavy cream when you're done.

How is the Whole30 different from Paleo?

The Whole30 is based on a Paleo framework, but restricts some foods that might be considered “Paleo” in nature. (Of course, the exact definition of Paleo varies, based on who you ask.) The goal of the Whole30 is to eliminate all foods that may be having a negative psychological or physiological effect on how you look, feel and live. As such, some technically “Paleo” foods (like honey, heavy cream or desserts made with almond flour) are ruled out for the duration of your program.

"The word 'Paleo' is owned by no one. There are no hard fast rules to what paleo is because everybody's definition is different. For some, it's 100% all the time and treat-free, often as strict as a Whole30. For others, it's 80/20 or 60/40 or full of treats or full-fat dairy. Just google 'paleo' and you'll see every color of the rainbow.

Paleo is confusing. Whole30 is clear."
