Honu
I'm starting the Whole 30 program tomorrow and I am very sensitive to eggs so I need to keep those to a minimum. There is a recipe in the Against All Grain cookbook for a Banana Porridge... It seems to have all the okayed ingredients but I just want to make sure it's actually okay?1/2 cup raw cashews, 1/2 cup raw almonds, 1/2 cup raw pecan sea salt ripe banana 2 cups coconut milk 2 teaspoons cinnamon Thank you!! GFChris
Porridge or pudding is not the best choice on a Whole30. A recipe like this is fruit and fat (nuts are a fat on a Whole30): it's more desserty vs a meal. Instead, for best results, follow the recommended meal template of 1-2 palms of protein, 1-3 cups of veggies and a compliant fat per meal. Don't let fruit push vegetables off your plate. For non-egg breakfasts, google Whole30 non-egg breakfast and you'll get links to past discussions on this topic. Also start thinking about breakfast as meal 1: anything you have at your other meals, you can have at your first meal of the day.
Mitch55
Honu, As far as eggs, have you tried organic??? If I eat organic, I'm fine... If I eat regular generic eggs, I'm hating life for 20 minutes with watering eyes, sneezing etc...
Munkers
In general, anything labeled "porridge" or "pudding" is probably not Whole30 compliant.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted August 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 17, 2015 Many folks find that fruit is best enjoyed with Meal 2 or Meal 3 rather than first thing in your day. And remember, never let fruit push veggies off your plate.
