Cathy Critt
I am doing my first Whole30 and football season starts Friday. My daughter is in the band. I won't have time to eat dinner before the game. (Last year, we would grab food from the concession stand.) All my ideas seem a bit messy for eating in a football stadium. What would you pack and how would you pack it?
Britishgal
I made scotch eggs today and they would be perfect. Or cold kebabs on sticks? Or just boiled eggs...or chopped up chicken breast...or cold prawns? with a salad or chopped up bell peppers or cucumber and mayo to dip? Think picnic
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted August 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2015 I personally would bring whatever I would normally eat for dinner, but then, I've been at this whole 'bring your own food everywhere' thing for a while. Agree with Britishgal, I'd bring cooked but cold meat (chicken, a pork burger, salmon cakes, scotch eggs, prawns) and roasted but cold vegetables (broc, cauli, beans, carrots) and maybe some avocado. I'm the queen of sticking everything into one Glaslock container and bringing a fork. It's not really all that messy to eat out of a container in the stands... same as eating lunch at work... kruddock
You could try burgers on portabello mushroom buns or compliant bun of choice? Not sure if it could be messy though.
Cathy Critt
This past Friday I actually had time to eat at home before the game -- boiled egg on greens with tomato, green pepper, olives and balsamic vinegar. Thanks for help - will need to do it again next week!
MeadowLily
Moderator Shannon's idea...a thermos of homemade soup is an excellent one.
Hannlib
I like a protein salad in a tub with a fork for my eating away from home efforts.
