Starting 8/24. Again.

Hi everyone -

I've gone through Whole30 once before, in February of '14. I loved it. I felt amazing and empowered.

And I botched it all. I had a horrible reintro and completely wasted that whole experience.

I'm now back to my original weight, back to being tired and cranky all the time, relying on caffeine and sugar to get me through the day. And I hate it.

I’m trying not to view this as putting myself through misery. I’m trying to see this as a desperately needed positive change. I feel like it's going to be even tougher the 2nd time through, and I'm going to do it all on my own.

Here we go again. 8/24/15.

Hey Lisa, I started my second Whole30 yesterday as well! I also botched things after my first round. It went okay for a little while, but then it was special occasion after special occasion and suddenly I was eating the same crap that had made me want to do a Whole30 in the first place.

I have full faith that we'll both do better this time around! How's it going so far?

I started the same day. Hope you're getting along well. Are you doing it on your own with family surrounding you? If so, that must be hard. That's what my daughter had to do and it was tough. I'm lucky that it's only me and my husband, so my doing it by myself is pretty easy and he's good about eating whatever he wants if he doesn't think he'll like what I fixed.

That's why I've been coming to the forum every day. It's good support and very encouraging. You can do this, especially since you've done it before!

Hi APOCrunch & Missalyssa! I am on my second W30 (same reasons as you), but now on Day 13, and I promise you it's a whole bunch easier this time than it was last time. You won't spend nearly as much time reading rules & peering at labels, so you'll have more time for searching out the specific information that will serve your unique needs; you already have the cooking skills & your favorite meals tucked into your memory banks, so you won't get that Kitchen Shock that most people get on their first W30; you already know that 30 days ain't so long a'tall. You've got this!

My husband and I started our second W30 on the 24th also. I had originally commented on another thread, but there are way too many people there & I feel like we can help each other better when it's a smaller group.

Hope ya'll don't mind me joining here!

Also, thought I would copy my post from the other thread, just to introduce myself:

My husband and I started our second Whole30 on August 24th. Glad to have the encouragement on this site.

Our first W30 was in June of 2014, and it was amazing...But, we reverted to our old ways, and stayed there for over a year,

and we're both quite overweight and miserable. So - here we go again!

The first W30 was tough at times, mostly because I didn't know what to expect, but now it seems as though we are just doing what we know to do, and seem to be more ready for the dizziness, and cravings, etc. Not that it's a 'piece of cake' (sorry for that), but it just seems easier since we know we have the strength to actually make it through.

We live in Oklahoma, and are here if anyone has any questions about what's normal, etc. It's amazing what you learn about your body and its addictions when you try to bring it (and them) under control. And remember - no question is crazy!

You just might be asking what everyone else is thinking!

I hope Day 4 is going well for everyone so far! I'm not going to lie, it's been a rough week for me (unrelated to the Whole30) and the urge to cope with that stress by eating ALL the carbs, cheese, and sugar has been nearly overwhelming at times. I just have to keep reminding myself that it will only make me feel worse. It's not worth it!

How's the first week going for everyone else? Are you finding it easier than the first time around?

Hey all!

I'm excited to find a group of people with the same start day. This is my first whole30, my friend and I started on Monday. She stopped today (darn Minnesota fair food) so it's encouraging to find anothe me group.

I'm looking forward to the things I'll learn in the next days and hopefully having a lot more energy. The first few days have gone okay, I'm not crazy about meal prepping or the millions of dishes I've had to do but I know it will be worth it.

Anybody have any good weekend at the cabin recipes?
