MrsMarks
Yay! 7 days to go and I get to start re-introduction. I am curious what the easiest way is to introduce one item at a time? What did you introduce first? Anything you wished you waited until last?
GFChris
Are you looking for easy or most effective way? This is the Whole30 sample reintroduction schedule Either follow that method or the slow roll method.
Shawie
I tried legumes first like it was suggested... had peanut butter with meal 1, peanut oil with meal 2, and hummus for meal 3. I found myself feeling nauseous and tired. I could tell right away that I didn't feel good. Kind of strange! I'm eating good food until Wednesday where I will be trying non-gluten grains next. Zyriel
Oooh, hummus. Thank you! I was thinking about what beans I actually like to eat and was coming up short. Trying to have my re-intro days totally planned out ahead of time.
JenX
One thing I did was plan all my reintroductions to happen on the weekdays. I didn't want to open the door to non-compliant foods on the weekends when I was home. I thought that may too easily turn into a free-for-all as weekends often did pre-W30. So, I wrote out a schedule, and if I reacted badly enough to some food that it took longer to get back to top shape, and that pushed the next re-intro onto Saturday or Sunday, I just waited until Monday. kbutler512
HI all! This is my first post...I have 4 days left before re-introduction (woo hoo!!!) and will likely do more of the slow roll with a few things tested out along the way...I have a question in the meantime I hope someone can help with. I wanted to try out a new recipe as I was heading into the home stretch, and made the Citrus GInger white fish recipe from the Whole30 book. It has apple cider, lemon juice, orange juice, orange zest and ginger. it tasted amazing. HOWEVER, I ended up with crazy rolling gas and stomach pains all night long and into the next day - I had to stop on the way to work to get Gas-X and was praying that stuff worked because I was headed into an all day meeting in a small room! (it did, whew) My question - since these were all compliant foods from the recipe book, what gives? What ingredient bothered me here - the acids? I've been eating apples and oranges through the program and put lemon juice in water sometimes...was it the combo somehow? the ginger? The recipe makes a very small amount of sauce so I had maybe 2 tablespoons of it, but it was evil incarnate and I'll never have it again. PS. I'm kind of hoping other 'bad' reactions are this drastic because it's a really clear signal that something didn't agree with me - I just hope I can figure out what it was! Any help would be appreciated! thanks!
jmcbn
Ginger usually has a soothing effect on the tummy, so I'm guessing maybe the acid? What did you serve the fish with though? Any raw or cruciferous veg? Or had you been eating a lot of nuts on the days before?
kbutler512
thank you for your reply! For dinner, we had the fish with avacado/grapefuit salad and some salad greens with cucumber, tomato and onion. I may have had some nuts the day before - but it wasn't likely as it was the weekend. I have nuts sometimes for a snack with an apple at work, but not on the weekends usually. I guess it was the acids ( I had grapefuit too!) - I had no idea that could be the reaction from 'approved' foods! Any advice on what that might mean to avoid with the reintroduction? I don't want to go through that again... thank you again! I appreciate your insights, K
Chachers04
Have you been eating fish throughout the 30? The particular fat in fish does a number on my stomach
kbutler512
Yes, I eat a lot of fish however this was a different kind of fish that I'd never had before (well, I had it a few years ago one time) - it was a white fish so I wouldn't have thought it would make a big difference from the usual Tilapia white fish I have. Hmmm...good to know. I'm not interested in testing it out again anytime soon, and have no problem not eating that specific fish thanks for your feedback!
