KarenStokes
Can I take melatonin? It has soy and corn starch in it. I stopped when I started my whole30, but my sleep has been terrible all week. i have been using Melatonin for a long time to help me fall asleep. Do I need to just push through not using it anymore? jmcbn
The soy & corn starch make it off limits, but apart from that a melatonin supplement can actually interfere with your body's ability to produce melatonin on it's own so it's not advisable to take it long term. Magnesium is a much better alternative.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 6, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 6, 2015 Technically, you could find a different melatonin supplement that does not include soy or corn starch. They certainly exist.
