ami
Hi, I have read the shopping list again and it says: "items in gray should be avoided" but eggs and seafood are in grey and eggs are talked about as a go to constantly even in the daily. And pineapple is in gray and is in your suggestions. Please clarify. I am finding that shrimp is available grilled without sauces but other meats and fish often are not and I am eating eggs every day. Thank you! jmcbn
Which shopping list is it you are looking at?Eggs would be greyed out in the AIP list, but allowed on standard and low FODMAP.Pineapple is allowed on all lists as far as I know. It's fine to eat eggs every day so long as you tolerate them, and you can order any meat or fish grilled plain if you make your request clear to your server. If you'd like to post a few days worth of your food log we can check that you're on the right track... ami
Thank you. I found another "shopping list" that the items above were not in grey. I have had my questions and difficulty with allowing eggs and not allowing things that are less commonly allergens but I want to do W30 the way it's written. Daily breakfast has been 2 eggwhites (it was recommended that I not usually eat the yolks) with some veggies. Lunch is usually a large salad with veggies, olives, avocado, my delicious homeade dressings and a protein-usually tuna or salmon. Almost daily for dinner I have cooked (and eaten) alot of veggies (including sauteed zuchini, roasted cauliflower, green beans-whatever is local and used olive oil and salt primarily and some lemon) practically every day as well as part of a sweet potato and a sausage from a local farm (pasture raised with no additives-just pork and spices). I have eaten more fruit than I usually do including concord grapes, peaches, plums, melon, apple-all local. I have snacked on it some. I have stayed mostly away from dried fruit and really limited nuts as they can be food without breaks for me. I have sometimes found things at Whole Foods that i can eat-much of it has added sugars but I bought some sliced roast beef there for tomorrow that I plan to have with homeade mayo and lettuce leaves for a change. Another lunch I've also enjoyed is some salmon salad that they have at the Wholefoods salad bar that is just flaked salmon with capers and red onion and I wrapped it in toasted nori sheets with salad. GFChris
Out of curiosity, why was it recommended to you that you not eat egg yolks? On your comment about eating foods with added sugar, it wasn't clear to me if you ate those foods. No added sugar is allowed on a Whole30. The need for snacks can be an indication that your meals aren't big enough. For best results, build meals of 1-2 palms of protein, 1-3 cups of veggies, and the recommended amount of compliant fat, in portions that satiate you for 4-5 hours.
