jessicacoggins
My 3 kids, husband and I are really struggling with this last leg of the Whole30. All of us have had either loose stools or diarrhea with every bowel movement over the past couple weeks. Seasonal allergies with my husband and kids are worse than they have been in years. I am having frequent bouts of bloating and gas pain, along with my youngest who complains of his tummy hurting. His eczema is also really bad still. Also my acne is the worst it has been in a very long time, my insomnia is back and I struggle to get out of bed in the morning. Our doctor, who recommended we do the Whole30, suggested to eliminate eggs and reduce fruit intake. We have always been an egg eating family and have had much more fruit than what we are currently eating prior to Whole30 and we never felt this way. What is going on? We chose to do this to help remedy my hormone imbalance, clear up severe eczema in our kids and help with ADHD in one of them. What should we do? jessicacoggins
Breakfast yesterday was a cup of zucchini, onion and bell pepper sauteed in bacon fat and topped with 2 eggs. Lunch was a bowl full of chicken chowder from the Whole30 book. Also a dozen or so grapes. Dinner was Shepherds pie from the Whole30 cookbook with red potatoes instead of sweet potatoes. Had 2 cups of this. Had a small snack of a few pieces of dried mango between lunch and dinner. Breakfast today was a few scrambled eggs with 2 palm sized sausage patties. Lunch was palm-full sized portion of chicken salad - chicken, celery, green onion, homemade mayo - with 2 clementines and fresh carrots. Dinner was palm-full sized portion of carnitas with same sized portion sweet potato mash. Had a small snack of a few pieces of dried mango between lunch and dinner. I usually try to drink half my body weight in water every day.
GFChris
Overall, your meals look good/compliant (assuming the dried mango is sugar/sweetener free and no other off-plan ingredients). Are you eating certain foods now that you didn't eat prior to the Whole30, or in larger volume? You might try dropping the dried fruit, carrots and any other raw vegetables and see if that makes a difference, along with taking medication for the loose stools and diarrhea. I also wonder if you all might have caught a stomach bug? Otherwise, I'm thinking your meals aren't big enough, given your need to snack between lunch and dinner. - When eggs are your sole protein, the serving size is the number of whole eggs you can hold in 1 hand without dropping them. For most adults, that's 3-4 eggs.- Lunch yesterday was missing veggies. Don't let fruit push vegetables off your plate. Aim for 1-3 cups of veggies per meal. FAB@50
Jessica - today I am on Day 29 and last week my seasonal allergies kicked into full swing (I live in Michigan), which resulted in turning into a horrible head and chest cold. I have also been having some digestion issues over the past couple weeks so I got a high-grade probiotic to start on. Not really the way I wanted to end my Whole 30 program so I feel your pain. Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted September 16, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2015 It really, really sucks when you get sick on your Whole30. Nothing makes me more cranky that I'm eating so clean and not feeling great! Hope you feel better soon. Hang in there!!
bailey.derby
All of those symptoms could definitely be cause by trace amounts of dairy in the food. Did you make the sausage yourself? prepackaged sausage almost always contains dairy.
