I am so impressed with Whole30

It's amazing how my view towards food is changing and it's only been a week. For the last couple of days, I've had this rush of gratitude for my food, as I sit down to eat it. I'm 60 and the only other time I've had this feeling for food is about the age of 2. I was sitting in a high chair on a screened in porch, with a breeze and dappled light through the trees and I was eating tiny pieces of melon with my hands. It might be my only memory of a healthy relationship to food and eating, in my life and one of my only from childhood when I remember being content and at peace. Until now. It's a really wonderful feeling to be giving your body just the nourishment it needs because it needs it.

Somehow, the not weighing myself, the not counting foods and portions of food ( except in a simple way) and the simplicity of the list of what to eat,  have freed me from something. I also think not having sugar is helping my mental outlook.

I'm not exactly less tired... have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue... and I do hit a brick wall in the afternoon where I'm just exhausted. A nap really helps now though... and in the past it didn't . I can get up and then keep going mentally and physically. I am so hopeful and curious about the benefits I'll see in the coming weeks.

I also think it's so easy... because all my cravings are gone. I was at the grocery store today and while I saw bread, cheese, bakery, etc... it wasn't a bare knuckle war of will power to not buy it. I just saw it and went on with what I was looking to buy.
