And so far so good! I'm determined to do this right and make no excuses for myself. I've been mostly off grains and sugar for a while now due too high blood sugar, so don't have to adjust those too much. Cheese is the food I'm missing, and cream in my coffee, and lattes. My hope is that some long term skins problems will clear up and I'll lose some weight.

Hi Mollyz well done you! How is it going? I'm just preparing to start on Monday and to be honest feeling rather overwhelmed and befuddled already so encouraged by another newbies success. Yep I'm dreading giving up milky coffee but it's only 30 days.

You doing it by yourself? Want to be accountable and support one another through this?

Have a good day

I'm on day 4 today. This is more all encompassing than I thought it would be! My kitchen is like a science lab. I made homemade mayo and I'm now trying out different ingredients to change its flavor for various sauces and dressings. Food is all I think about I still have some brain fog/headache too not to mention the cold I'm battling. I made a pot roast but it is so dry. No arrowroot in the house to thicken the stock left over. Trying out the mayo based sauces with it but it's just not the comfort food I used to love. Ha, that's my problem...using food for comfort!

Hi Britgirl! Hi Annie!  Yes, by myself--I'd love to have some company, Brit. That's what I keep telling myself--its only 30 days. Are you doing the email thing? Its been really motivating for me to have the "I did it!" link at the bottom of the email. I can't bear the idea of having to click the "I made bad choices" link, so it has helped me not give in. What are you doing to get ready for it?

Annie, you sound like a good cook! I've been horribly lazy about making meals over the last probably ten years. It's so much easier to just grab something at the store or the drive through, so this will be good for me. I want to make mayo--I got all the ingredients but haven't done it yet. How do you make it? Someone suggested using an immersion blender, and I've been wanting one for a while. I found a blog that tested 7 different models and went over to Bed Bath and Beyond last night planning to get the one they recommended, but they didn't have it. I wound up ordering it so now I have to wait. Which I am not good at but they knocked $20 off the price so here I am. :o)

i wonder if there is an easier way to talk back and forth than this blog. Is there a way to make it notify me when someone posts? Or would email be the way to go?

Yes, you can set your notifications to email you whenever someone posts on this thread. Click on Follow this topic in the top right of this page, and select how often you want to be notified. Then in your profile (click your username in the black strip across the top of the page), select My Settings > Notification options, and then choose how you want to be notified.
