sorbom
While I haven't posted in the Whole30 log previously, I do have some questions. I started this journey for a host of reasons, migraines, joint aches & pains, life long digestive issues and menopausal weight gain. I exercise regularly, weights 2-3 times a week and cardio 3-4 times a week. Now I know it was the food I was putting into my body. I feel amazing! No headaches or joint issues! I have no idea how much weight I've lost, but my clothes fit better, some even too big. Still having digestive issues, but I think my body needs more time to adjust. I have very little interest in reintroduction. I only miss two things, wine and completely artificial creamer I used in my coffee. Clearly the artificial creamer is out the window, but I like my coffee with something in it. Do I use Cashew/almond milk? Fat Free Milk? Whole Milk? Or cream? Something I haven't thought of? Or do I wait it out and eventually the desire will go away? Can I continue on my current Whole30 path and just have an occasional glass of wine? I really don't have interest in my former favorites, ice cream and potato chips. Or the grains (previously diagnosed with a wheat sensitivity), sugars-not even chocolate, or dairy (as a child I had dairy sensitivities). Thank you! Mindy Hi Mindy, The truth is, you can eat however you like after your Whole30 - that's part of what riding your own bike is all about. Regarding what to put in your coffee, regarding post-Whole30 eating and what off-plan foods are better/worse, we don't get into those types of discussions on the forum. I'd suggest reintroducing what you most likely feel you'd like to include in your coffee now, and see how you react. Then you can decide whether to go that route, or try something else. On the wine, same thing. Reintroduce wine at a frequency that you'd like and see how your body reacts. I would especially look at how you feel, cravings, whether or not it affects bloating or sleep. It all boils down to experimenting with how having these foods back in your life works for you.
