Holley54
I'm still a little confused about "fat" with each meal. I read the whole30 book and am still confused. For instance I have read if you sauté green beans with evo that won't count as a fat but in the whole30 cookbook Melissa states that the chicken catchatori is a one pot meal. I see it has cooking fat in it. I suppose that's the fat??
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2015 If you saute vegetables, a lot of the fat stays in the pan. With the chicken cacciatore, you're getting the cooking fat plus the fat from the chicken skin, and presumably you'll eat the skin and not leave the fat in the pan because you'll eat the sauce as well. The other thing to remember is that the meal template recommendations are minimums. Your goal is to build meals that keep you satisfied for 4-5 hours, and fat is going to help with that. If you're consistently hungry before then, you need to increase your portion sizes, including the fat portions.
