courtneyl130
Today I start my journey of Whole30. Unfortunately although I would love to say I CAN DO THIS, I feel as though I may need to restart my journey a couple of times a long the way. I created a calendar on a dry erase board to help me along the way. I took measurements (in a sports bra and shorts that I couldn't zip!) and began my day. First note to self - Canned coconut milk does not work in iced coffee!! I quickly dumped it out and got a black iced coffee from Dunkin. I am really hoping I can narrow down the source of my stomach issues by doing whole30. I have always suspected dairy, but never been able to cut down. HERE WE GO.... LisaPT
Courtney! You CAN do this! I started again October 13th. I had done my first Whole 30 back in May that turned into a Whole 75 lol. I read every helpful thread on this board that I could find. Women's issues were a great read. It is amazing to find you are not the only one with whatever problems! I have found, surprisingly to me, that wheat is not my friend. I have water retention, bloating and inflammation that cause me pain. I thought it was old age catching up with me (48 lol). I thought aching after work was normal until I tried the Whole 30. My first few days I had to pee so much in the nights...that was the water retention and was a fair bit of weight. About day 14 I noticed less aching. When I was done the first 30, there was NO pain. I also had bathroom issues. I would NEED to go with little time to get there. I would just get stomach cramps and know it was emergency. I would plan outings around this. If I had to go out to do something a little different than my usual I would make sure to not eat at all beforehand and If i was going out to eat I would make sure there were stops along the way back just in case. Now that I write this I realize this was a huge success in my WHole 30 I did not record my first time around. Anyway, welcome to you. I am sure you will love it. Hard stuff the first few days but hang in there and the good comes!!!!!!!!
courtneyl130
Thank you for the encouragement. I have lost weight with Weight Watchers several times, but was never any healthier because of it. I am hoping this can help me make long last healthy decisions about food. I have never heard anyone describe their 'bathroom issues' as close to mine. I literally know where all the bathrooms are that I can stop at along any given route. It has gotten to the point where I have such bad anxiety over the fear of having to go that I am not sure what is causing what at this point. Is the anxiety aggravating the issue or are the issues causing the anxiety. I literally go out to dinner and hope to leave right away so I can make it home before any emergency hits. I have always thought dairy, but it could be gluten. We will see when I add back some food groups after my 30 days!

Hopefully you'll learn a lot about what your body needs and what it does not like.
