Darbbb
I know that RX Bars are not a great habit to have, but they have been my emergency food of choice. They just announced that they are replacing ALL fig in their bars with cashew. Unfortunately, I'm seriously allergic to cashew, so no more RX Bars for me. My question: is there an alternative bar that anyone could recommend? I don't want the meat-based bars, because they sound gross, but something like RX that contains egg whites, fruit, nuts. Anyone? Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2015 Why are you having emergencies often enough to need a replacement bar?

As Tom mentioned, we don't encourage anyone to rely on bars of any type, but the meat-based ones are far superior as a fuel source, worth trying IMO. Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted October 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 21, 2015 The Epic bars are really great. I love the lamb and the bison (Edit: Bison is not Whole30 compliant). Turkey is a little dry but has good flavor too. Beef is also pretty good, and pork (read your labels).
thegoldengrahamgirl
I tried to have an open mind about the Epic bars, so I'm considering order a box (or two). Are all flavours compliant? I'll start with the lamb and bison, based on ultrarunnergirl!
missmary
Are all flavours compliant? Sorry, Bison is not compliant, and there may be others. Best to check the ingredients list. Personally I prefer the bison cranberry and the beef/apple/bacon (I'm not whole30ing, so I'm not bothered by a tiny amount of sugar in the Bison variety). thegoldengrahamgirl
Thanks, missmary! I did some research on my own last night and came back with the same answer you provided. I was all set to order some via iHerb but unfortunately these meat products cannot be shipped to South Korea. :-( I was hoping to have some for some upcoming long-distance international flights but I'll see how much food I can get onto the plane/into my luggage via tupperware containers and ziploc bags.
