Misskarine
Hello everyone, First post here. I've been on my first Whole30 since October 5th. So far, no big issue except for wild craving of potato chips. Here's my question: can I have canned tuna fish in olive oil? The brand I buy lists tuna, olive oil and salt as ingredients. I have been reading both It Starts with Food and the Whole30 book and they mention tuna canned in water (I can't stomach that kind). So yay or nay? Thanks a bunch! ScooterH
I found out that most brands of canned tuna in the USA have soy. The only one I found at Kroger that did not have it was like $6 bucks for the small 5 oz can which is ridiculous. Does anyone know of any soy free, canned tuna that can be purchased at a regular grocery store?

Its unfortunate but even if someone could list something for you, it may be different in your region if it's even available. Your best bet is to look in your own area and read the labels in the stores. I do know that some people say that Trader Joe's carries a canned tuna in olive oil that is only tuna and olive oil (which I have personally bought), but if you can find it in your Trader Joe, you must read the label, don't rely on others experiences
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted October 28, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2015 I buy mine from Amazon's subscribe & save. Look for Wild Planet (also available at Whole Foods), but as noted above, you need to read your labels. Companies can change ingredients.
MeadowLily
If you can't find tuna with olive oil...buy compliant tuna and add your own. I like California Olive Ranch.
