dnewton78
This is my 1st whole 30 and i'm training for a half ironman. During the whole 30, is it ok to take ibuprofen or similar OTC pain meds?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 19, 2015 You can, but you should know that ibuprofen and other NSAIDs cause trouble to your gut and more. Eating ibuprofen to enable you to keep training when sore hurts your overall health.
Saree_maree
I'd also add, it's ok to just go ahead and train sore if the soreness you're feeling is your basic delayed-onset muscle soreness that comes from training hard. You may not meet your goal paces but you can still cover your distance. If you're taking ibuprofen to mask the pain of an actual injury, that's a whole different story. You'll be lucky to make it to the starting line that way.
