I'd also add, it's ok to just go ahead and train sore if the soreness you're feeling is your basic delayed-onset muscle soreness that comes from training hard. You may not meet your goal paces but you can still cover your distance. If you're taking ibuprofen to mask the pain of an actual injury, that's a whole different story. You'll be lucky to make it to the starting line that way.
