Mellohjelloh
Is "crosse and Blackwell old English fish & chips malt vinegar" contain gluten? I know whole 30 says they generally to and to avoid this type but I was making whole 30 mayo and it tasted bad so my step father added that brand malt vinegar into it and I want to know if it's ruined for me or if I can have it. Ingredients say "100% malt vinegar"
GFChris
Malt vinegar does contain gluten and is explicitly called out in the rules as off-limits. http://whole30.com/whole30-program-rules/ On whether to restart, read this article and decide: http://whole30.com/2014/06/really-start-whole30/
Mellohjelloh
Luckily I refused to try it after looking it up again on whole 30, just wanted to make sure. I screwed up the first one, that was my second batch and I just bought that $8 bottle of light olive oil and it's already almost gone so just a waste thank you
Kbart64
Im not sure I have ever screwed up the mayo... even when it comes out flat and runny.. doesnt hold up ... or whatever... toss in some herbs and use it as a dip for fresh veggies....(non W30-ers never know the difference!!) Separate a little out ... mix it with a splash of OJ... some pepper and a dash of Franks... and serve on top of a grilled chicken breast with a thin slice of lemon as a garnish.. Or mix it with a bit of fresh dill, minced onion and garlic for a great sauce for fish Dont give up on what you think might be a mistake... use your imagination!!.. you might just stumble on something you love!!
