kcruz
Hi, I started my 2nd whole 30 about 9 days ago. This time around my gums are killing me. There's a throbbing that won't go away without motrin which I don't like to take. Has anyone experienced anything like this? We're not eating anything new. Just seems really odd to me. Could cutting down on caffeine cause this? TIA! Karen
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 27, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 27, 2015 This is not a reaction I've heard anyone else report on the forum, and it's not one I'd expect just from changing your diet or even cutting out caffeine. You haven't changed toothpaste/toothbrush/mouthwash lately have you? Or started a new med that might have some weird side effect? And I realize this is stating the obvious and you've probably already tried it, but -- you've brushed, flossed, and rinsed your mouth with salt water or mouthwash? (I know nothing about oil pulling, but I don't see how it could hurt if you wanted to try it, just to see what happens.) If you haven't changed your routine, and you've tried the obvious solutions, you might want to check in with a dentist.
