Rudyinfante
Hello everyone, I have been feeling fine all day long. I am on da 5 and I just had dinner and now I am totally congested and feeling very bloated. I did not have anything off plan. I made ground turkey with onions, garlic, tomato paste and Italian seasonings all stuffed in a bell pepper. For a side I made carrots with red onions with garlic powder, salt, coconut oil, and pepper in the oven. What could be going wrong? Thank you for reading and responding, Rudy
Administrators ladyshanny Posted November 2, 2015 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2015 It could be a reaction to nightshades, your dinner was fairly loaded with them (two instances of onions, garlic, peppers, tomato product). Do you normally eat this large a quantity of nightshades in a single meal? Maybe post what the rest of your typical day looks like (include portions, fluids etc). Rudyinfante
Thank you for your response! I usually don't. I had a LOT of onions last night... what are night shades?

Brewer5
Just to clarify -- onions and garlic are NOT nightshades. They are, however, high on the FODMAP list. OP, google "high FODMAP list" and see if you have been eating a lot of those at the same time you are experiencing the bloat etc.

Rudyinfante
Looked at FODMAP list and the o ly thing could be onions. I have a lot of cauliflower rice and don't particularly feel bloated... I will definitely keep a close eye on those particular items to see... Learning something new everyday! Thank you!
