ashd8970
Hello all-- my husband and I are starting the Whole30 meal plan today and, for the time being at least, I'm really excited about it. A little background- I'm a 31 year old woman, and have been having GI issues for a few months. After my last colonoscopy, my GI gave me a list of things she thought could be going on based on the inflammation she found, a few prescriptions and an appointment for a follow up in December. Fast forward a few months to about 2 weeks ago- all of a sudden, I'm feeling very fatigued, short of breathe and getting dizzy with the slightest bit of activity. I went to my PCP to have it checked out, and found out it was severe anemia. This landed me in the hospital for my first overnight visit, which included a blood transfusion and an iron infusion. The on call GI came in and now I have an appointment with him later this week to discuss another round of scopes. All in all, this will be my 3rd colonoscopy and 1st endoscopy and I'm only 31. Long story short, I think it's time that I at least try to take control of my health and do my part in clearing up these issues. I'm very healthy other than these issues, and don't plan to spend my life in and out of GI doctors and hospitals if there is any way I can turn it around myself. I'm very lucky to have my supportive husband doing this with me-- he has a bit of a high blood pressure problem, so we're hoping to see big changes for the both of us in the next 30 days.
