ericadeep
Hi everyone, my name is Erica. I'm really excited to begin. I chose the 17th because the literature suggests waiting until after a big trip. Going to Vegas. I'm just learning how to use the forum, so forgive me if you have about me somewhere else. I'm most nervous about how to share with my very critical family. They are certain bread and pasta are as important as vegetables and fruit. The last year has brought on many symptoms of food issues for me. Acne, bloating after every meal, weight gain and lethargy. I'm really hoping this program will bring me back to balance. I would appreciate any suggestions or words of wisdom for getting prepared to begin. I am already planning out my meals and shopping lists and got a few new gadgets for the kitchen How else can I prepare?
mamakitty
Read the forums. Seeing how other people succeed - and what causes them to not succeed - can be incredibly helpful on your own Whole30 Journey. Best of Luck !!! Most importantly - YOU CAN DO THIS! MButcher
Write out a list of all the reasons you want to do this, to fall back on whenever you start to get discouraged or feel like your family is not supportive. Clear out non-compliant foods from your kitchen, as it's much easier when they're just not in the house! I'm on my first Whole30 right now, and one thing I've found helpful the last couple of weeks is to do a huge cook-up at the beginning of the week so I have plenty of options in the fridge and only have to spend minimal time on meal prep throughout the week. Some ideas I've used: http://meljoulwan.com/2013/12/29/whole30-2014-week-1-meal-plan/ Have a great Whole30!
kirkor
What gadgets did you get? If a crock pot was not among them, return the rest and get a crock pot instead.
