Day 3: Staying Alive. Staying Alive. Sing it with me.

Day 0 was prep day.  Such a long time I've spent trashing my body that I shouldn't be shocked at the emotional reaction I had to throwing out my "emergency" frozen cookie dough.  Yet tears sprang to my eyes when I saw peppermint Hershey's kisses were back on the grocery store shelf for the holidays and I couldn't stock up.  If nothing else is gained from this, it's certainly opened my eyes to how strong my emotional connection/dependency is on food.

Fast Forward: Day 3. I'm still alive. Caught the crud that's going around the office which has made it even harder to shop and cook, but loving the recipies I found when I prepared for this. I think it's time to find some more though. I see why they advise you to prep.

Day 5:  Sing-alongs and chants.  Yup, I'm defintely in the right place to find the umph to keep me going.  Thank you kindly for that.

Hey, who knew you could cut up a turnip and bake it into "french fries"?!  Wholly mother of all things great and wonderful in the universe. They taste like a cross between a sweet potato and a white potato. I never even knew what a turnip actually was before this.

Who knows what other crazy veggie treasures I've unknowningly missed out on.  Parsnips? Eggplants? Collards?  That's the extent of my veggie vocab. My new mission: Hunt down and try out a new veggie  each week.
