I'm staring 11/16.  I've done 2 before, but I haven't managed to complete one this year.  Earlier in the year I made it to day 12.  I need to get back on track since I seem to have totally forgotten how to eat well!

Hi all. Great to see lots of folks here, Day 0 was Saturday, I prepped and prepped. I have stew, chili, mayo, ketchup, and vinaigrette. We just got a wegmans here so I had to check it out. Quite fun. I need the meal plan. I also started a mindfulness/meditation app. It's a short daily mindfulness audio AND it has a pause button (15 second, 2 breathes with a picture to look at)

Day 1 My family loved the stew. The chili without beans however, not so much. I managed iced tea instead of diet coke.

Day 2, I just woke up starving. Prepared sausage and broccoli frittata. Ok but not loving texture. Don't want to eat the second portion tomorrow for breakfast. I think I need to find something with a better texture (crunchier/chewer).

So ok so far.

Shopgirl - how was your day? Favorite meal? Any losers?

Day 1 for me today.  I made the mayo which didn't come out quite right.  Should the texture be close to store bought mayo?

Ideally, it'll be close to that.

You might check out this discussion and see if there are any suggestions that might help yours, or google Whole30 forum mayo for other past discussions.

Day 1 was a late start for me.  Made this with some compliant andouille sausage I found locally, served with the mayo.  Delish.  My husband wanted to eat all the leftovers.  http://littlecoconutty.com/2015/09/whole30-breakfast-hash.html.  For dinner, we made this (avocado instead of cheese) and served with brussels sprouts.  http://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-balsamic-marinated-stuffed-flank-steak-with-prosciutto-spinach-amp-provolone-recipes-from-the-kitchn-204762?utm_source=tk&utm_medium=fb&utm_campaign=social.  The marinade was great but that's about it.

Day 2 consisted of leftovers for both breakfast and lunch.  Today for dinner?  Who knows.

I have the willpower to do this, but my biggest struggle will be finding recipes.  I'm really bored with the ones I have.

How's everyone else doing?

Karen - Last week I was traveling and the menu had something called grilled avocado toast which I have changed to avocado/tomato/onion/lime juice salsa topped with two eggs over easy. So far my favorite breakfast. (I have so many days to compare it too,haha...), what kind of things do you like? I am into recipes

Probably the most popular recipe sites for Whole30 recipes are: Well Fed, Nom Nom Paleo (those two link directly to their Whole30 recipes), Whole Life Eating (moderator Tom Denham's site -- all recipes are Whole30 compliant), and Stupid Easy Paleo.

There are others as well, but those are the ones that get mentioned most here in the forums, as far as I can tell.

Thanks, Zimmerak. I'll give that a shot.

I've worked my way through both Well Feds and Nom Nom's cookbook in the last few years and I'm worn out from my favorites. I'll check out the other sources. I need quick and flavorful. I'm feeding a family of 6 half time.

Smoked pork shoulder is what's for dinner tomorrow night.

Hi everyone! It's day 2 --- woke up with a terrible headache, but it's also that time of the month so I think it's mostly because of that or some combo of it all.

Breakfast yesterday was eggs, spinach, avocado and 1/2 an orange. I never let myself have fruit before --- so that was a treat!

Lunch was chicken salad with Primal Paleo Mayo I bought on Thrive (they also have Paleo Wraps made from coconut meat that are great!) I put celery, pumpkin seeds and a handful of pomegranate seeds in it and it was delicious. Oh and a pickle - I found some at trader joe's that we can have. So good.

Dinner was a mexican salad - ground turkey over spinach with salsa and avocado. I didn't season the turkey enough...wah wah. Today I will make the sweet potato home fries for breakfast with eggs and sausage. Lunch will be the protein packed salad. And dinner, spaghetti squash and turkey bolognese.

Happy Tuesday!!

Just FYI, the primal wraps are not allowed on Whole30. They fall under the "do not recreate baked goods" rule (read all the rules here):

Do not try to re-create baked goods, junk foods, or treats* with “approved” ingredients. Continuing to eat your old, unhealthy foods made with Whole30 ingredients is totally missing the point, and will tank your results faster than you can say “Paleo Pop-Tarts.” Remember, these are the same foods that got you into health-trouble in the first place—and a pancake is still a pancake, regardless of the ingredients.

Hi Shannon - I absolutely understand that rule. I plan not to recreate baked goods. I don't eat gluten and have no interest in GF breads, wraps, etc. The paleo wrap is made only of coconut meat, coconut water and coconut oil. This is a new placement in life just as spaghetti squash and noodles are my replacement for pasta dishes. Just as coconut cream is now my ranch dressing and mayo, coconut meat is an alternative way (like a big piece of lettuce) to scoop up other yummy things like chicken salad. I haven't had them since starting yesterday, but they really feel in integrity with the program to me.

Hi Analisa, sorry, Primal wraps and Pure Wraps are specifically called out as not permitted on Whole30.  Check this article for more info.
