Tiziana
Following the Whole30 and Paleo guidelines, I was wondering if hot and spicy peppers (I really like spicy food) are allowed? Habaneros, Chiles, and what have you (organic and locally grown and whatnot). I'm about to embark on my 4th Whole 30, my body needs it! (The first was actually a Whole90 ) So I wanted to know, or be sure IF I can make a spicy oil or sauce using locally found hot yummy peppers (similar to the ones in the pic). I think since most are natural (around here) I can? But I am not completely sure. Thank you in advance!
Tina R
Yes as long as they don't have any non compliant ingredients. Some peppers in a jar have sulphies, wine or sugar. If they are fresh eat away.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted November 16, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 16, 2015 Any kind of peppers are fine. Obviously if you were looking at pre-made oils and sauces, you'd want to double check ingredients to make sure there was nothing off plan in them. Tiziana
Thank you so much, ladies! Nope, I was planning on making my own with hot peppers I'd bought and have at home already.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 16, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 16, 2015 There is no value at all in consulting Paleo sources in regards to what is appropriate for a Whole30. The Whole30 excludes a variety of things that some Paleo enthusiasts allow.

Thank you, which is why I made the reference that I checked on both, and came here with the question just in case one or many types of hot peppers where not whole30 approved but maybe Paleo.
