IronSara
Hi wonderful people! I'm on Day 3 of my Whole30 and looking forward to all the success that comes with it...right now, I'm a little cranky. I searched the forum and found 2 posts about Nando's Peri Peri - both inconclusive about whether some of their options would be Whole30 complaint. Both were from about a year ago, so sorry if I'm breaking the rules by posting this again - but wanted to see if anyone had any updates. I did find this when reviewing their menu; which means the Macho Peas that others thought is complaint, are actually not (it contains dairy): D Contains dairy G Contains gluten SL Contains sulphites S Contains soy sauce/soy flour SM Contains sesame E Contains egg V Suitable for vegetarians Anyone ventured to one in the US and have success with their meals? Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 2, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2015 It's really impossible to tell from their menu since they are not specifying cooking oils or sugars that may be added. And while some folks may report back that they have found "xyz" that is compliant, you still have to ask at the restaurant that you are going to go to because regional differences and suppliers can mean that what is compliant in one area is not so in another. Just pop in there and start asking questions.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 2, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2015 Also note that the "Macho Peas" wouldn't be compliant even if there was no dairy involved as peas are a legume and not permitted on Whole30. Snow peas and snap peas and green beans are the only exceptions as they are more "green" than bean.
praxisproject
Nandos ingredients vary wildly by region, you really need to check with your local store. Note that store sauces also may not match ones found in bottles, ask for an allergy menu (we get one here in Australia). Oils here aren't compliant, but they can cook you chicken without oil.
