Whole30 Birthday "Cake"

Recommended Posts

Day 15 of Whole30 and Hubby's birthday...As a compromise, I attempted to make a Whole30 birthday cake. Turned out surprisingly good.

[Edited]

He loved it. I loved it. You might love it, too!

EDIT: Sorry folks, although those ingredients WERE compliant, baked together into a cake are NOT. Carolina, I understand your compromise and wouldn't start your W30 over, but just remember the rule against paleofying desserts. It doesn't help to change habits!

I missed your original post, but I did see a photo online once that had a meatloaf cake with Happy Birthday written with a Paleo ketchup or barbecue sauce. ;)

Gatork's pic looks awesome!

Thanks for sharing, also disappointed it was edited out as some of us are celebrating milestones on their whole 30. Not much chance of a long-term lifestyle change if you can't even have a compliant cake.

The rules are really, really clear. For 30 days, no recreating baked goods. If it is important to you to have cake for an event, don't do whole30 over a period when that event is going to happen. Once your whole30 is over, you can have paleofied cake or regular cake or whatever works for you, whenever you feel like it is worth it to you. If you do have something coming up during a whole30 that you want to celebrate, find new ways to do that that don't compromise the healthy choices you are making for yourself for a month, or delay the celebration until after your whole30 and reintroductions are done.

This explains why the no recreating baked goods rule is in place:   https://whole30.com/2011/10/sex-with-your-pants-on/
