Day 5 and Strep Throat

I'm a newbie, and I had very bad eating habits leading up to doing Whole30. I'm only on Day 6 and I've been doing everything right so naturally I thought I was feeling terrible because of the "carb-flu". It turns out I have strep. I have zero appetite and even less will to cook anything. I haven't eaten anything all day, and now I'm worried the antibiotics are going to mess things up.

How bad is it if I don't eat? I can't even wrap my head around it today. Maybe when the meds have been in my system...just feeling terrible right now.

Really try and eat something, you're likely to feel worse if you skip a whole day's worth of meals.

 

If you're up to cooking the Silky Gingered Zucchini Soup is my go-to when I don't feel well. Best made with bone broth (I like chicken). It's AIP if you skip the pepper, so it's very soothing when your body is cranky.

 

Soft foods like scrambled eggs, mashed starchy veg and applesauce can help when your throat is sore.

If you don't want to cook, see if you have some leftovers, canned tuna or other fish and any canned veggies.

 

Take your antibiotics, they will help you get better :)

I feel for you!  I ended up with bronchitis and a sinus infection (at the same time) for which I needed antibiotics near the end of my Whole30.  Try to at least plate a template meal and eat what you can of it.

Thanks for the replies! With the antibiotics in my system I'm feeling more myself. I'm an eater. I have been diagnosed with flu A and still wanted food. It was very odd to not want anything at all. I can only hope it didn't effect me too much since I went a whole day with nothing but water. Here's to 24 more days!

If you feel extra hungry over the next day or too, add another meal or mini meal for the day.
