Heligirl
Hi Monica! I'm starting on the 10th too. Let's make this happen together! Jen
joybedford
Ok I'm starting the 10th too. This is the 3rd time this month I have said I am starting and for some reason I don't. I know I need too. I have many medical problems gastritis, fibromyalgia, IBS, benign brain tumour, raynauds. I will be 45 this year and for the first time in my life I an feeling my age and not liking it. I am currently on antibiotics for a chest infection and quite honestly feel awful but the food is making me feel worse. I am generally active and eat well but I am intolerant to dairy and gluten but I still eat them don't ask me why. I also suffer from binge eating disorder, yes I'm a screw up time to get healthy. LindseyG1985
Joy, I am glad to see that you have a realistic understanding of your starting point. Perhaps you would benefit from bringing your doctor on your journey as well (both to ensure he/she approves and to extend your support system). Especially while you're on an antibiotic since those can sabotage your success.
LindseyG1985
Hi Monica I'm Lindsey! I start my Whole30 on Monday the 11th. It looks like we're here for the same reason, support and guidance. I look forward to going through this (even as I dread it). I have psoriasis along with lifestyle issues like obesity, heartburn and overall low energy. I'm hoping this program will help with these issues. Good luck on your journey!
joybedford
Lindsay my doctor wouldn't be interested A, she doesn't believe in dietary intervention already had that conversation. B, I am in the UK on an NHS service resources are thin and it's difficult to get an appointment when your ill they don't have time for things like this. I'm on my own my husband isn't even supportive of whole 30 so I have this forum for support.
jillyhoops
Hi Ladies, I started my Whole30 today as well. this is my first time although I've followed variations of it but not the program itself to a tee in the past. I'm exceptionally fortunate in that my hubby is very supportive although he and our son won't be completely the full adventure with me, my meals will be slightly modified to meet my needs. I have long standing stomach and autoimmune stuff that I'm hoping will be aided by this journey. Good luck to you all as you start moving forward. Mrs.Morgan
Hello All! I'm also starting today and it's nice to see that there are several of us starting on the same day! I've been gearing up for about 3 weeks knowing today was going to be my start date - getting my mind and my kitchen prepared. My main issue that I'm hoping this program will help with is severe eczema on my hands and feet. Losing some weight will also be a big plus! Good luck everyone, I'll looking forward to having people in the same boat as me to share with and cheer on.
DianeS2016
I started today too! This was doctor recommended to try to correct some health problems, 2016 is about me... It's my time to make changes in my life for me. We got this!
arlamore
Hi ladies, Congrats on your first day! I'm starting my second Whole30 today (Jan. 11th in Asia), and figured I'd jump in on your group. Support is really key and I gained so much from the forums my first time around...whether helpful advice or ideas, or just someone to commiserate with about the ups and downs of those first two weeks. I totally had food dreams, cravings, mood swings, and awkward public encounters, and it was so important for me to see that I wasn't alone or unique in this...Take it one day at a time, build support, and come back here as often as you need. You CAN do this.
joybedford
So I am guilty of poor planning already. I have been ill since the 1st January and really ill for the past few days. Just done my shopping online which will be delivered between 11 and 12 but I have nothing to eat for breakfast. I will call and buy eggs when I take my daughter to school but then have to take my son to school and then walk the dog. I will manage I am sure but I like breakfast. On a positive note day 1 was Ok breakfast was chilli, spinach and eggs, lunch broccoli and spinach soup with ham and dinner salmon, salad leaves, almonds and homemade mayo. I also had an orange and a pear. I have had moments when I have wondered why I am doing this. I have an online bikini competition coach and she knows I have been struggling with food issues recently her answer to this is to make my food repetitive and boring. Meal 1 oats with whey powder and peanut butter, 1 meal of almonds and 3 meals of chicken, rice and veggies. I am supposed to eat this and lift weights 5 times a week and do insanity 6 times a week. I would die of boredom and don't intend to put myself through that. I will continue with whole 30 that has made my mind up.

joybedford
I rescued breakfast I ate the leftover broccoli soup cold and it was good. Now waiting for my grocery delivery so I can prep some food. Have a headache but still ill so not sure if it's illness or whole 30 related. Rang in sick from work for next 2 days. Heligirl
Hi gang! How is it going for everyone. It looks like we're all moving into the Kill All The Things stage. I've certainly been grumpy and am feeling totally uninspired by food choices the last 24 hours. How are you guys coping?
Mrs.Morgan
Here we are at day10!! How is everyone doing? I'm feeling good and haven't really had any of the negative side effects although I did have a pounding headache on days 3-4. I haven't been having any cravings, which is strange because I really was a terrible eater prior this. I'm sure it's to do with "mind over matter" because I mentally prepared myself for my start date for a few weeks in advance. The only difference for me is that I am feeling sooooooo tired. I'm not sleeping great and I feel tired all day. I'm hoping that this passes in the next couple of days! No change on the eczema front yet, but it's only been 9 days. Someone did tell me that my face looked less puffy so that's motivating!! Cheers all, hope you are all hanging in there.
jillyhoops
Day 12!! Nearly halfway! How are people dong. Mrs.Morgan -- glad the things are going well (ish) for you - I hope you see changes in your sleep and energy levels soon. I'm feeling pretty good although dreamt about having yogurt the other day and work up worried I'd ruined my Whole30 efforts (thankfully just a dream). I'm not noticing huge changes yet - I continue to have the GI and autoimmune type of issues I was having before the start of it but I am sleeping better. Good luck to everyone and hope that things are moving forward in a positive direction!
