Kylecedwards
Day 1 all but in the books. For breakfast I had spinach frittata and a cup of coffee. Made it to lunch just fine. For lunch I had a salad of romaine, raw broccoli, raw onions and 5 oz of starkist (no soy) tuna. Lunch definitely was not fulfilling. I was hoping I could just take some tuna in and add it to the salad option on the salad bar. I really don't want to take a full lunch in every day being that I am automatically charged for the lunch. (Long story short, I'm in the Navy, stationed on a ship where they serve 3 meals a day. Those meals are automatically deducted, no way around it). Really don't want to have to buy stuff for lunch everyday. I also don't really trust that the methods of the other foods served are compliant. Either way I made it to dinner where my wife made some banging stuffed peppers w turkey, kale, onions and compliant tomato paste. She also steamed some cauliflower on the side. Overall good day. I was very full after dinner, but also feeling extremely tired. Hoping I can stay up for this National Championship game tonight.
Kylecedwards
Day 2: Eager to wake up this morning. Had trouble sleeping from about 5-6 am. Got up around 5:55 with a headache. Spinach Fritatta for breakfast and a spoonful of almond butter. Glass of water and cup of coffee. Headache was gone by the time k went to work and didn't return. Full until lunch which I ate around 11:30. Salad with spinach, kale, 3 eggs, onion, tomato, black olives, tuna, oil and vinegar. It was a pretty big salad, I was full and filled all afternoon. Dinner was chimmichurri chicken kabobs with squash, zucchini, red yellow and orange bell peppers, and mushrooms. Roasted cubed sweet potatoes on the side. Dinner was banging a quite satisfying. Taking leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Kylecedwards
Day 3 Breakfast was spinach Fritatta and an avocado. Was pretty hungry leading up til lunch. Lunch was romaine, grilled Cajun chicken, onions, tomatoes, and pepper. Really filling. Held off on dinner until 7, since I was staying on the ship I wanted to eat late because there are a lot of temptations on board. Dinner was left overs from last night, chimmichurri kabobs. Right now I am exhausted, but I attribute a lot of that to the 15 hour workday. Somewhat hungry but not starving or craving anything. Day 3 complete, never really felt that "hangover" we'll see how the next 2 days go!
Kylecedwards
Day 4: Breakfast on the ship consisted of 4 hard boiled eggs and a handful of almonds Lunch was 2 grilled bubba burgers with grilled onions and garlic w/ romaine lettuce bun and 2 handfuls of carrots. Dinner was amazing, chicken tacos wth homemade guacamole. Maybe he best meal we have had yet. Another day done. Never felt the need to "kill" anyone today lol. Day 3 complete, never really felt that "hangover" we'll see how the next 2 days go! Was pretty tired today, attribute a lot of that to duty last night. Took a nice afternoon snoozer today
Kylecedwards
Day 5: Fritatta and avocado for breakfast Lunch, cut up bubba burger, onions, garlic, on a bed of romaine. Dinner chile lime chicken burgers, portobello , onions, tomato, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes fries. So tonight I found out that the coconut oil spray we had used a few times has soy in it. I'm not going to start over bc of it. Not like I had a slice of pizza or a handful of Oreos. I am absolutely devastated because of it. We worked like hell these last 5 days. Come to far to start over because of a little oversight. It may not be the by the book thing to do. But I know the amazing choices and changes we are making far out weigh spraying something on my grill to keep chicken from sticking. Either way, by the time I hit 30, I'm willing to bet I add on a few days to make it right. As for killing anyone today. Yea it hit me. I found myself going off on people at work today. Literally screaming at them (which isn't uncommon in my job). But having a quicker trigger. I actually kinda laughed to myself, "yup day 5." Also took that quick trigger home with me and I am sure my wife is ready for me to get thru this phase.
Kylecedwards
Day 6: Egg, crumbled turkey spiced w cayenne, tomatoes, onion and kale bakes. Also had some fruit cut up, melon and blueberries. Lunch, marinated wings in hot sauce over night and grilled them. First time doing this and they were awesome. Also had a salad of spinach, avocado, tomatoes and evoo. Dinner we had shrimp, broccoli slaw, sesame seeds and sesame oil. Like the inside of an egg roll. Pretty good, next time we'll steam the slaw. It would be better steamed but the chewing required made our brains think we were fuller lol! Also had a handful of olives stuffed with garlic and jalepenos. Felt very productive today, kept my self quite busy. Felt the need to do something out doorsey. Like a hike or a bike ride. Too busy to get to it, but had a ton of energy and felt productive all day (been a long time since that happened). We even sat down and made some financial decisions about some silly recurring bills that we didn't need. I honestly think this program had us applying the right decision making to several aspects of our life, not just our diet. Tonight I feel exhausted and am looking forward to a great night of sleep!! Kylecedwards
Day 7: Breakfast egg casserole and compliant turkey bacon and same fruit as yesterday. Lunch was homemade turkey chili over a bed of spinach. First time making chili and it was fantastic. I ended up eating 2 bowls. Way too much! Didn't feel too hit he rest of the day. Dinner was grilled lemon pepper salmon and sautéed kale and onions. Plus a handful of olives. Can't believe a whole week is in the books. Heather and I wanted to take some one week pictures. But we both are already feeling like day 8 is here. Big and bloated lol. So I think we will hold off. I do feel kind of run down and tired this evening. I didn't take a nap but probably could have used one. Some NSV's from week 1: 1. Not having a snack for a whole week. This is nuts with my eating habits. 2. Eating a home cooked meal for every meal. We eat out a lot. This is gonna save us a lot of money, my bank account is already appreciating it. 3. Tons more energy. Feel the need to be productive every day. 4. Being more "regular". 5. Discovering some great things to eat that are healthy too and some new methods. Like just marinating wings in hot sauce over night and grilling them is far better than frying and tossing in wing sauce. Or how easy it is to make chili! Great first week, let's smash week two! Kylecedwards
Day 8 Omelet with spinach onions and tomato, turkey bacon and fruit with a scoop of almond butter. Lunch was more chili on a bed of spinach. Dinner was fajitas in lettuce wraps with pulled chicken, cauliflower rice, olives, tomatoes and spicy guac. Wasn't feeling too hot after breakfast, my stomach was hurting a little. We went on a 4 mile hike and felt a million times better after. First time really doing anything active since we started and I had so much energy. Worked up a good sweat, but I felt like I could go on forever. After lunch though I was exhausted!!! Kylecedwards
Day 9: Another duty day. Breakfast was egg casserole and a spoonful of almond butter. Lunch, romaine, onions, tomatoes, tuna and jalapeños. Dinner was grilled chicken, leftover chicken from fajita, a whole bunch of carrots some guac and some olives. I was absolutely exhausted this afternoon. After eating dinner I was hit with a rush of energy. I felt like it came from nowhere but it was clearly straight from my dinner. The big news of today is no bowel movement. That's a pretty big story for me, especially with the amount of coffee I drank today. Day 10 tomorrow, entering the 2 toughest days. I'm ready to go and face it head on!
Kylecedwards
Day 10: Breakfast: 3 fried eggs in olive oil. Lunch: romaine, onions, tomato, olives and tuna. Dinner: Chili and spinach and some homemade kale chips. Also had one of those fun drinks from the back of the book. I had good energy at work, but was exhausted by the time I got home. Kylecedwards
Day 11: Spinach Fritatta for breakfast Chili for lunch Turkey breast and some veggies and cranberries in the crock pot. Probably most least liked dinner so far. Flavors didn't mesh well together. Could have been much better. We know for next time. I was exhausted after dinner. Went to bed at 8:30!!! My day started at 4:30 so I guess it's to be expected.
Kylecedwards
Day 12: Spinach Fritatta for breakfast. I was on the road for lunch, made a stop at wawa but didn't find anything comfortable eating so I ate 3 hard boiled eggs I had in my car. About an hour later I got home and had a bowl of chili and about 2 or 3 plantain chips. For dinner we had the coconut curry chicken from the cook book with sautéed kale w almonds and cauliflower rice. It was incredible, best meal we've had yet. My favorite wings at B-Dubs add the Thai curry wings and this tasted just like them. I can't wait to make this again and toss some wings in it. Today was the first time that I felt like I wanted to go off plan. I was stressed and outraged by the other people on the road during the snow storm. I realized that my bad eating is directly related to stress and frustration. Who knew? Lol.
Kylecedwards
Day 13: Breakfast was fried eggs, turkey sausage and a sweet potato, onion bell pepper scramble. Lunch was broccoli slaw, shrimp, onions and left over curry sauce. Made our first venture out today to a birthday party. We made it, we came armed w seltzer water and plantain chips. It actually didn't seem all that hard to say no to the snacks and cake. It's like I knew there was zero chance I could have it. Dinner was adielas chicken and apple sausage, peppers and sweet potatoes. Today was a good day....off to 14!

Wearing my watch on the 4th loop (didn't even realize til late in the day) 4. Great energy throughout the day. 5. Enjoying all the meal prep and learning new stuff in the kitchen. Turkey burgers, steamed squash and green beans. Found out today that we are moving to Italy. As nice as it would have been to celebrate with some wine and pasta dinner. We did the right thing!
